He never had a gay scene in the books - unless I'm misremembering something. It was always suggested. With respect to battles, there isn't a lot of pitched battles per se, but there is a lot of fighting. What we see is going to be based on what the directors want to emphasize out of these books. Right now, they're emhpasizing polical drama, rather than how the people of this world are surviving by the sword, arrow, and ax.

Yeah, they are taking some serious liberties with things implied but never stated or described in the books - Melisandre and Stannis, now Renley and Loras. Guess it makes for a more "compelling show", though that scene last night was a head-turner for me. Asked the girlfriend to let me know when it was over. Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;-)

And yeah, Appoo, there is no doubt that Martin leans to pervy. Some of the stuff in the books can make you a little uncomfortable reading it, and I say that as someone who is pretty open with those sorts of things.

Hats off to them making Harrenhall look creepy/cursed as hell. "What fire melts stone"...."Dragons fire". Decent line

I've really enjoyed how the show started off more realistic then fantasy, but is now bringing in more of the fantasy aspects. Tyrion is the man, it has been really interesting watching his charater develope so far.

That was effing disturbing.

Hardly any of it happened the same way in the book. They are just too involved. The show will follow the basic story line and throw some nudity in whenever they can.

The smoke thing at the beginning that killed Renley. That red woman just gives birth to a random smoke thing that can kill someone? IDK just seems like literally anything is fair game after seeing that.
