So a team comes back from 3-0 and let's say that team forces a game 7 on their ice...you don't think that they will have a mental advantage over the team that was scoring at will and has now lost 3 straight games?
Philly can win in Pittsburgh but if they don't close this out on Sunday, the amount of pressure on them will be enormous.

honestly, im not really worried, which surprises me. id say 10% worried, 90% confident. just dont see the flyers losing the next two. just seemed to me that the flyers couldnt get away with any defensive mistake and the penguins did thanks to flower.
also, WTF is going on with Pittsburgh's shooting?! is this a whole team of snipers?? perfect location on shots every time

this isnt a regular philly team. even the rookies dont give a f*** about these bad loses. theyre all focused on the next game. flyers.com has a blog by matt read, totally shrugged off the 10-3 game.. will do the same to this

I am a Pens fan and still not confident they win this series but the Pens have put a lot of pressure on the Fleyers.

If the pens win game 6, i'd much rather play 7 on the road if I was philly. Less pressure in someone else's building. Although that stadium would be rocking.

Considering it's happened 4 times in over 100 years of sport, no. Flyers won 3 in a row and the momentum didn't help them. The amount of pressure of the team facing elimination is always higher.

Fluery was out of his mind tonight. He's clearly turned a corner from his first 3 games. Sooo pumped right now! Pens in 7!

Having played sports all my life, including hockey, I definitely believe there is momentum from game to game. I believe it is one of the reasons teams go on long winning streaks (which the Pens can be a streaky team). Sporting is very mental.
When the Lightning won game 5 last year, I said the series was over, and it was. That team went onto the Conference Finals and almost the Stanley Cup Finals.
Here is a recent interesting article on game by game momentum though and it has some good points:

Wow, are you serious? No momentum in sports. So, the flyers winning game 1 didn't help their momentum in winning games 2 and 3? Or, the pens being up 6-3 in game 4, momentum didn't help scoring 10? This is an absurd statement.

If the refs let the game be physical and allow fighting. The flyers win. Playing finesse hockey is how Pitt earns its reputation. That 10-3 landslide was the best example refs were ready to throw guys in te box for excessive trash talk after the whistle

For Pittsburgh its about 5-5 hockey. Philly hasn't scored an even strength goal in nearly 3 games.
Philly needs the game to be not so tight, so they get that devastating PP unit on the ice.
Given how the refs have called this series since game 3...I expect a tightly called game.

i think how the penguins finished game 5, how they sat back and let philly control the play is looking like it'll bite them in the ass.
Philly is just continuing how they finished game 5. Never a fan of sitting back and just playing to get out of the game.

agreed, but im very happy with the way the flyers played D that period. not too many testers on Bryz.
btw, look at neal, only suspended for 1 game, didn't learn his lesson and takes a shot at Jagr's head at the end of the period
