Haha another nerve wracking series for sure. Curious to see how many NY fans make it to the Rock. Game 1 tomorrow can't wait the Garden is going to be rocking.

I'm not sure I can handle another game seven, even if you can't beat the atmosphere at the Garden right before the team comes out to start the game. It continues through Amirante's National Anthem too. 8 PM start time gives everyone some extra time to threw a few more back as well. Can't wait for tonight.

Fired up...... I wonder if the number one seed getting to play the 8th then the 7th and then the 6th seed to get to the cup has ever happened before?
I was forced to watch game 5 and 6 last week in McPherson Kansas. I actually taught two guys with John Deere hats and cowboy boots what offsides was. I was spreading the love of hockey to the state of flatness.

Whoa. That is a pretty incredible statistic. Honestly woulda thought it was like 40/60. Fascinating. Also surprised it hasn't happened to two teams in the same CF in the same year.

Solid first period, couple good chances each way. Looks like Devils starting to get forecheck working, hoping it carries over to second. Was strange to not see a fight with these 2 teams on ice

Devils pretty much dominated from halfway into the 1st all the way to the end of the 2nd. Forecheck was on point. Hank kept em in it for the most part. 3rd period after the Girardi goal was all Rangers. Good opening win. Move on to game 2 Wed

Re-watching the game right now on NBCSN, always like to watch games I attended a second time. Some random thoughts:
-Garden crowd was very nervous until the third period, especially after a dominating second period performance from the Devils.
-Lots of blocked shots by the Rangers. Think the number was in the 20s or higher when all was said and done.
-Devils PK is suffocating. Doesn't seem like they're a man down.
-McDonagh just continues to get better and I'm not sure if he's just elevating his play or he hasn't hit his ceiling yet. Either way, wow.
-Staal is rounding into form quite nicely as well after missing a good portion of the season early on.
-Henrique is really good. Didn't watch much of the Devils save for when they played the Rangers, so that was surprising.
-Trying to find a picture of Kreider's celly, if anyone finds a good one please post.

The Devils are way too aggressive on the PK, and that's why has struggled this season. The Rangers need to just move the puck quickly on the PP and they'll get chances. As for McDonagh, part of my daily routine has become thanking Bob Gainey.

The Devils PK was the best in NHL history during the season. Not sure what you were watching? They were dreadful against Florida in the first round, but they were fantastic this season.
