So how did you celebrate the Cowboys last Super Bowl victory Tex? Throw your rattle in the air? Take a swig of Enfamil?

I don't quite remember, it was quite some time ago. I've seen pictures of me in an Aikman jersey when I was like 4 or 5, but I can't stand that guy so I'm not sure why I was wearing it.

How about you jive? Did your dad throw his rattle in the air the last time the Eagles won a championship?

You say it like you think it hurts me. lol

Tex, one thing you have to know about Philly fans is that we are 100x harsher on our team than opposing fans. If I were you, I would run that bum Romo out of town before talking about his past gf's. I also wouldn't be cheering about a championship 18 years ago. Hell, I am already pissed off at the Phillies, and they won the WS in 2008. They stink.

    Was it a Super Bowl?

Let them call it what ever they need to. Facts r Facts. The Eagles are a sad pathetic franchise.

  • I heard he had his was with Clay Aiken as well.

Edit don't get the whole championship Super Bowl argument same thing just with different sexy titles. Penn State has 2 (outright) national championships yet none are in the "BCS" era. Call it what you want they were the best team at the end of the year.

Eh, I'm a casual fan. Romo is very unpopular amongst Cowboy fans where I'm from, I'm one of his few defenders that I know personally.

Sure you would. We take pride here at PSU for winning two natties back in the 80s, it's the same way with the Cowboys, except we have a lot more. You can still get angry or frustrated with a team and be proud of their past.

Bro, my Phillies are the losing-est franchise in sports history. It's all about the here and now with me (that is for pro sports only).

Similar to that Garcia guy you had for a while?

Last I checked mNC's weren't vetted by being in the BCS era, they count all the same whether they were in the 40s and 50s or in 2013. Not so with NFL championships.

So Philly fans are all about the here and now when it comes to their franchises, but when it comes to other teams they root for- teams that actually have a respectable history- then that viewpoint changes?

That makes a lot of sense, actually. I'm sure cowboy fans and PSU fans would be the same way if we didn't have a great tradition.

NFL Championships since the 30's have been conducted same as it is now regular season playoff championship game. Call it tomato ill call it tomato.

Even if this championship was counted, it was still 53 years ago. The argument every Eagles fans throw out there for why the Cowboys suck is that we haven't won one in 18 years. 18 years >>>>> 53 years, if that championship is to be counted in the discussion at all.

No, if PSU sucked, it would be the same. College is different... it's about the school, the tradition, ect. Pro sports is merely guys getting paid to play for a franchise. So what.

Do you know why Dallas has sucked for 18 years now? It's because the salary cap brought them back down to earth. They can't simply go out and just buy the best players anymore. That is why the Yankees championships do not impress me... you SHOULD be winning titles when you spend 2 times more than anyone else.

Timing or lack thereof has nothing to do with it. The Cowboys will forever suck because of their degenerate fanbase and owner who believes they represent America as its team. They're all degenerates 53, 18 years ago and will remain that way I'm sure.

I highly doubt that. Rutger fans are all about the here and now. As are Texas Tech fans, or any other fanbase that is peaking or peaked recently. If you're a fan of a team with a good history, like a PSU, Alabama, Oklahoma, USC, etc., then you care about history and tradition.

I for one am much more proud of what the Cowboys were than what they have become under Jerry. We've got a great tradition in Dallas, championships out the wazoo, and that's something that should be cherished. Most fanbases aren't as lucky as Cowboy fans to have such a rich tradition, and it should be revered.

I make fun of them because they've only won one playoff game in what 18 years. Its not just that you haven't been to the Superbowl in 18 years its that you haven't even been respectable since Aikman got Lavarred. The only thing Cowboys fans gave to go on is the distant past.

    Cool story itz.

You still won't win the division, much less any significant trophy.

Can't wait for Chip to keep Vick and run the no-huddle with a 30 year old. McCoy should have a career year though. That should be good for 3rd or 4th place in the division, congrats.

I'll take a lot of Super Bowls 18-25 years ago over none ever.

It's been 53 years of disappointment or just flat out atrociousness. I'd take being a Cowboys fan over that any day of the week.

Eh... like I said, when you can basically buy your championship, is that something to really be proud of? It's hallow, IMO. And like I said, I couldn't care less about the WS championship from 2008... I really couldn't. Win now. Entertain me. That's their job.

That's what Cowboys fans have become. So pathetic their response their team being worse that the Eagles is..... well someone else will be better than your team.

    That's sad.

I guess I should be nice. Edit. Actually for most of my life, outside of 4-6 years, the Eagles have been the better team. And for almost all of your life the same holds true. Like I said talk about the distant past, that's all you have over the Eagles.

Not in my lifetime. I was born in 1982.. since then the Eagles are 32-30 against the Cowboys.
