OT: ESPN at it again

  • ESPN went and decided that wearing camo uniforms to support the troops is now "ugly." Is there no end to their stupidity?

    I mean, aesthetically camo is pretty ugly imo. I don't think its supposed to be visually appealing which is in essence why camo is what it is, a way to blend in completely. However, I do think that the thought behind supporting the troops is completely American and awesome.

  • Not sure if any of you saw Act of Valor...the first thing that crossed my mind was "I can tell these are seals and not actors" then immediately scolded myself...these are heroes and it doesn't matter, I love their acting! Good movie by the way...and I love the padres camo unis.

  • I can sympathize with your point. i'm a country boy tho, i wear camo to class half the time haha...but this is just another case of espn being idiotic. as the article said, they are ranking the padres based on their alternative uniforms. basically ESPN went out of their way to insult the Padres camos

  • In other news, reports are confirming that Jerry Sandusky has just walked from his family room to the kitchen in order to make a sandwich. ESPN will be there all night reporting on this and will be doing extensive research on whether Sandusky had ham or turkey. Outside the Lines will have a special on where this meat came from and where they got the animal. They will then discuss whether or not Joe Paterno had a say in whether the animal was taken to the slaughter house or not.

    umm, that article is jus plain idiotic.. ne chance u get to support ur troops, u shud do it w/o ne hesitation.. they r riskin their lives to save ours.. this is the least we as civilians can do to show our support to them.. dis commin from a non-american citizen.. but i will always support the troops.. ignore this espn article... jus like every other article they write.. lol..

  • So an opinion columnist who is paid to write his opinion, was asked to rank baseball uniforms from favorite to least favorite based on aesthetics, is considered to be not supporting troops because he ranked the Pads camos dead last?

    For future reference, may I please know the lowest I can rank something with camo or Red, White, & Blue in it so I can continue to support the troops and America? Thanks.

  • I'm sorry but the absurdity of this is killing me. A few weeks ago we had a thread where people were arguing that it was perfectly ok for Stefon Diggs to say possibly racist things about Jeremy Lin, and arguing that we've gone "PC" too far...essentially defending our right to publicly air inappropriate, borderline racist comments without being crticized because those comments are actually just meant to be funny. And nationally, we have people arguing over whether or not it's ok for Rush Limbaugh to call a girl a slut and a prostitute to a huge audience. And now we have some of these same people saying that people are not allowed to have an opinion that Camo uniforms are ugly on a baseball team?

    Appoo, I am not sure 4 is saying that. He is saying ESPN said "camo uniforms to support the troops is now ugly".

  • i like the camo on the army uniforms, but most the guys who play in the MLB aren't even American, it doesn't make much sense to me..
