OT: Broncos cheerleader

  • Thought everyone could use a good laugh while waiting for the S Zone this morning.

This is the funniest thing I have seen in a while.

Be sure to check out the video...beyond the obvious attractions at the beginning, skip to about 0:44 and look at the middle of the picture...the drooping shoulders and concave posture (0:53)...“EVER!” (1:23)....”AMAZING!” (2:10).

Spoiler Alert: Sheer disappointment in the end, but the heart and drive of an American Idol reject.

Video: Broncos cheerleading tryouts include one male

The Denver Bronco Cheerleader and Denver Outlaw Cheerleader teams have never had a male member.

  • This kid is onto something, open calls with a hundred hot chicks and plenty of opportunities to hug them, I may think about doing this.

Do yourself a favor and go to the PSU tryouts for the DANCE, CHEER and The LION positions. I believe you will have a slightly different opinion after that.

Most of the guy's are former athletes from Football, Wrestling and in my sons case a gymnist. Three years ago there were a couple of football player that tried out for the team and did not make it. Not becasue of their personallity or ability to shout loud but becase they cound not do the physical part of the requierements or a back flip or hold a 100/110 lb girl over there head, try it...

Pictured below is my son. My 247 pic is my son doing a layed out full twisting back flip on the field. 6'1" 205. FYI, just got married to his high school sweetheat in March 2012.

  • This is kind of an ignorant post in my opinion. I laugh a little initially at the thought of male cheerleaders, but then I stop and think and realize they could probably kick my ass, get tons of girls, and are football players.

  • Did you guys watch the video? This guy was nothing like typical male cheerleaders that you see in college. Quite sure if he was, the OP would never have been made.

Exactly, this is like more like the real life story of a character Sacha Baron Cohen would play in a movie, not an actual male cheerleader.

  • I think there is a pretty significant difference between what our cheerleaders do and what the character in this video is doing.

The male cheerleaders at PSU are most definitely athletes - during my time as the Lion I was frequently amazed at some of the things those guys could do.

That's exactly what I thought about when I watched it and when they said his name was "Sasha" (sp?).

  • That had to be an act. Had to be... I hope.

  • Good for him. The guy is stepping outside his comfort zone and doing something fun. As long as he doesn't throw a hissy fit when they don't hire him, I think it's great.

  • Reminds me of the first stages of american idol, where the guys know they suck, but they're just doing it for some attention.

Exactly...I have nothing at all against male cheerleaders, and I'm sure I couldn't do most of the things they pull off....I just thought this guy's exuberance was pretty funny!

Wmpsu...excellent photos! I have the utmost respect for your son--he looks great as the Lion and congrats on his wedding!--no disrespect intended to male cheerleaders...as noted above, my intent was to highligh the kid in the video who is pretty funny and certainly not an athlete/gymnast-type like your son.

  • I laughed out loud at the :52 sec mark of that video. It was perfect how the camera just panned to the right to compare him with everybody there. I can't believe that was real...it looked like it was something straight out of SNL or something.

    LambeauLeap

  • HAHA this was awesome as has been mentioned this guys was not the norm of male cheerleaders making this hilarious.

  • I was expecting this to be some stupid total flamer that was REALLY trying to join the squad, and not funny at all.
I have to say, it was pretty funny.

And to people that watch something like that and can't tell it was an OBVIOUS joke.. i'm not sure exactly what you missed there.

Seriously. That was an Andy Kauffman-esque prank. The guy was obviously there just to amuse himself.

    I laughed.
