I think Urban is a scumbag too, but this is a non-story as far as he is concerned. He violated a stupid rule and self-reported it the way that he's supposed to. Smith's violation, though, is completely idiotic, especially for someone in his position and with his "experience". Every time I see his name in the news (which is usually for some idiotic act or statement), I wonder how he still has a job. A very lucrative job.

Let me preface this by saying I have a huge disliking of Meyer and OSU. They are Al Queada to me. That said, every school on the universe commits secondary infractions. That rule book is a joke in many aspects. If a coach takes a crap at the wrong time, its a violation.
Urb should have known about the thing with Spence though as ticky tacky as it is.

I get it. The guy is a dirtbag. That's just a dumb ass rule. Period. The kid says hello to a guy that he has a relationship with and the coach is only allowed to smile and nod because it's a certain month/day of the year? Stupid.

"Ohio State became aware only when it saw a photo", which translates to Smith calling Urban and saying "Make up some bullsh-- story about talking to his coach when Noah walked by so we can explain this picture before we get crucified in the press.."
The entire culture at OSU creates a complete disdain for the rules and their leader Smith is perhaps the worst offender. They think (know) they are above them. It will never, ever change no matter who the coach is.

These are just self-reported violations. Can't imagine how many violations OSU has committed without reporting.
