Despite all of the reports & O'Brien's agent talking all over the place, no one can get in touch with the agent to verify whether his no-name guy was hired to one of the highest profile college jobs. Give me a break. Plus, Joyner was just on the bball telecast & said nothing. Only that he hopes to hire by Jan 13, which is the day recruits come to town.

No way we waited two months to hire O'Brien. We could have hired O'Brien early in the week after the Sunday game & allowed him to contact recruits. Now he cant talk to recruits until Jan 13. Doesnt make sense.

Still think we announce our hire next week after the Bama - LSU game.
Still expect a bigger hire than O'Brien.

But we'll see. Who knows.
His offense certainly cant be worse than the offense we've had.
Plus, maybe he keeps the defense & our better recruiters.
No one knows so lets wait for the press conference.

Disappointed...

Disappointed in the way the hiring process was handled. Disappointed by the fact I had to hear first from ESPN. Disappointed in how a loyal, class act guy like Tom Bradley was overlooked and ultimately treated.

With that said I wish Bill O’brien the best of luck at PSU…

They should have had a much, much better plan B lined up. That's entirely Joyner's fault.

aaaaand I'm going to bed. Maybe I'll wake up and have no interest in football. That would make tomorrow a lot easier to deal with.

Yeah this is a tough one to understand. They could've pulled the trigger months ago on this hire, he obviously wasn't at the top of the list. Gotta give the guy a chance though, DickRod came into a split house and didn't stand a chance from day 1. Keep in mind, Hoke wasn't our #1 nor was he a big name but it worked out pretty well for us. Hopefully O'Brien can recruit. Good luck guys

And Hoke's record at Ball State was 34-38 in 5 seasons and 13-12 in 2 seasons at San Diego State. His coaching record prior to this season was 47 wins and 50 losses. To be sure his best years at both schools were his later seasons as he some rebuilding to do however 47-50 is not the most impressive number to put on ones resume. He's now up to 58-52 after his outstanding year at Michigan.
