The Mods discussed this idea earlier tonight, and we're going to make one pinned general thread for reactions to this situation. Have at it.
Don't be offended if we delete a few of the threads started in the past 10-15 minutes. We don't want this to turn into BWI with 50 separate threads clogging up the board. Feel free to share thoughts, player tweets, etc. here, but try to keep as much as possible condensed to this main thread. We'll keep a few of the others going which already have a lot of activity.
PM me with any other concerns.

All quotes from anyone who knows him sound positive, if not great. I'm not gonna lie and tell you I wasn't expecting a bigger name, but I will give this guy a chance. I love my Alma mater, and I will support them on this, especially in this, our greatest time of need.

I'm willing to give the guy a chance. He's never been a head coach but labeled a failure by most of you. As long as he can recruit well we'll have a shot. I like the fact that he wanted to punch Tom Brady. I feel the same way.

My initial reaction is that this was orchestrated by the BOT. They ultimately wanted to seize power of the program. They took the steps to force Joe out the door. They chose one of their own members to select the new HC. And I believe that they purposefully identified someone who they could control. I really wanted to believe that our leadership would somehow prove its competence after months of missing the mark, but that proved to be misplaced optimism. Hugely saddened and disappointed by the direction that I believe our program is going to move in the future...not just the Bill O'Brien tenure.

Can't even describe the feeling in words. The one bright spot in this whole mess was looking forward to a new chapter in Penn State football... And now I'm just more dissapointed.
Obviously, best of luck to Bill, and I'm interested to see who he brings with him. Let's hope he has us all eating crow in a few years.

I guess I'm willing to give him a chance but I am disappointed. Would have much rather had Scrap and given him the chance. Just hard to believe waited this long for this hire Need a new AD now.
