  • I am just happy to see the QB coach and by definition position being emphasized. It is about time!

Ga Mangus seems to be the perfect fit . He's a good coach, a fantastic recruiter, and has experience coaching in PA (Widener). I don't think he has any personal relationships with OB, but he has worked with butler and Fitzgerald at USC. Personally, I'd be ecstatic if OB could lure him in because he'd help in the qb situation AND hes proven himself to be an elite recruiter. However, it's not often you see a top coach leave the SEC coach leave ther position, unless for a higher position. So maybe he could be qb coach/assistant OC for a year before being groomed into qb coach/OC. Or with his track record, maybe he'd even be qb coach/associate HC (similar to Hixon) before being groomed to OC. May be wishful thinking (and a bit unrealistic), but it's with the excitement regardless. Plus it does seem logical!

Do we really need the headlines that would come with hiring a QB coach/OC who was arrested last summer for peeing in public?

Think not.... Although who hasn't taken a pee outside or 'peeing in public'. I haven't read the story. Is that all there was to it?

Haha. OB's a smart enough guy, Id bet he's already looked into him. Hopefully even interviewed! Btw, idk of you were joking or not, but if anyone else wants to email the suggestion to OB feel free to steal my thunder. I just don't know if im personally gonna do it.

come on bruh.. its UR idea.. n a bloody good one too.. email him.. n lets b real.. i think everyone of us has at some point in our lives pee'd outside.. not that i encourage it, but u knw.. u go to a club.. get drunk.. next thing u knw, ur takin a leak outside, on ur way bak home.. some ppl get lucky n get away wid it.. while some arent so lucky.. but ohh well.. nice idea PSU_56.. i say email him.. wud b amazin if we can get him from USC to PSU..

Brad "Spider" Caldwell (Football Equipment & Facilities Coordinator) and Kirk Diehl (Coordinator, Practice Facilities) are both still on the staff.

  • Off the subject a bit but do any of you know if Bill Kavanaugh is still employed by the University somewhere. I occaisionally hear a recruit say they've been contacted by him. Maybe he's just staying on in a transition type of role. Just curious....

I do hope you're being sarcastic - and know that it's not "Spider's" decision of whether the heaters "go" or not. The Boss (God rest his soul) makes, and made, that call. If I remember my reliable source's story correctly - I think we were even offered a couple heaters by the home team (since it was an away game and it wasn't expected to be "quite" that cold) - and they were told "no thank you".

I would hope, with the way things have been around here, that people would make sure that their facts were correct before criticizing. But, like I said - I will assume that there was hint of sarcasm in your comment.

The new logo is kinda cool though!!!!

  • Spider is still there and working for the football team. Joe really was not a fan of the heaters, fans and all of that stuff. So, a lot of the time PSU did not have that stuff on the sidelines. It was Joe's call.
