  • Speaking of him playing lacrosse, did you see his highlights?! Holy s***! Very impressive. Also, It's evident that he enjoys hitting people.

Agree(maybe slight difference in the small school thing) College sports is much different. You take the best from a HS and put him on a team of 'equals', generally speaking of course. And play agaisnt others of the same caliber, again, generally speaking.

Instead of teams having 0 or 1 or 2 big men on an OLine or DLine, they have all larger boys. Instead of teams having 0 or 1 or 2 pitchers on a team that can toss 85mph and have multiple pitches, a large majority can. Instead of....pick the team, sub similar numbers...you get the point :)

Pretty much all sports as well, the speed of the game is much different. With each level you rise in sports as well, determination and dedication also factor in (talent has to be present as well at the upper levels) as it is harder to just go out and wing it on gameday like it was in HS. Gotta put in some work unless you are one of those rare gifted ones that come along now and then. Deion Sanders for example who didnt give a rats arse for working out, was pretty good. Prolly didnt even have to warm up to run a slow 4.35 on a cold day lol.

Deion Sander's didn't give a rat's arse for working out yet somehow played 3 varsity sports at FSU and played in the NFL at a HOF level and the MLB?

Enhancing my point....I like it lol. Love em or hate em, Prime Time could really live up to the name in many an athletic competition

Look at what are kids from last year were rated when BoB and co first offered them and where they ended up. Almost all rose, minus Mahon for some odd reason.

yeah, I trust this staff's evaluation far more than any of these recruiting sites.

  • anytime I think I like XXX prospect better than one of our guys...I keep coming back to the fact that the staff saw both Allen and Reeder in camp and offered shortly after and they offered Scott next immediately after Allen. They knew what they were after and went out and got it. I tip my cap to that recruiting style and also to their confidence in their evaluations.....which is fantastic.

I think lacrosse and wrestling are great signs of a good football player.

Lacrosse shows high hand speed, foot speed/agility, good sports IQ, balance and just overall athleticism.

Wrestling shows good work ethic, lower body strength, aggression, discipline and understanding of leverage.

Just my two cents but being a one sport athlete in HS is a bad trend

Seems like that's a very positive sign of change from the previous staff. The current staff just has a knack for evaluating prospects at the early stages of the recruiting game. The previous staff would likely wait until it was too late to jump into the ring with the big boys.
