If we are in the top 2 with Nebraska, and he hasn't been to PSU, I can't imagine we won't be his choice after visiting. PSU to Nebraska is no comparison (unless, maybe, you are from Nebraska and like that feel). Coupled with the fact that he is 4 hours away from PSU instead of a flight to Nebraska, if he is ready to commit by end July, I would definitely hold a spot for him and not take a commitment from anyone other than AA, Benton, or Johnson until Newby visits or end July (whichever comes first). Take three of those 4. While I think we should take 5 linebackers given the depth chart, perhaps one of Newby or Bradshaw won't grow too much and perhaps they can play S if all 5 LBs pan out to be studs.

I really, REALLY hope you're right. And I hope the same is true for Issah as well. The LB landscape has definitely changed from the time that the staff decided to turn the heat up and have guys "sh** or get off the pot." Now they need to let the LB cycle play out a bit and not just take the first one who gives them a phone call if he is not in the top tier of guys (AA, Benton, Newby).

Jay Pateno was really good at not returning recruit's calls for 2, 3 weeks .....

Maybe BOB can take a page from Jay's old playbook.
