I've been around for sometime now and some of the guys there know a connected person or two. I'm not a fan of the way they conducted themselves in the past...goes way back...but they do know some things. It is possible things changed which is why you need to get the contract signed before you give out the "We got our man" line. Again...I'm not a LO fan, but do know they get good info. They are doing it for free so believe what you want to, but no other site that is PSU related is sticking their neck out right now. Maybe Joyner really shut everyone off and pulled off the shocker, but does it really seem likely right now?????

There are no reliable sources and Joyners ego is not allowing anyone to get close. LaVar might end up giving him a beatdown tomorrow!!

You don't get it. He could have done this hire 3 weeks ago and given O Brien a head start prior to the holidays. It's not so much the name, but how the search was conducted. It sounds like this.

ALL eggs in one basket and that basket gives a wink..nothing signed.
A couple of just in case interviews or reach outs.
Vacation.

50 + days for that...sorry, but I'm not impressed with the process. We have no idea which new guy can work out and that isn't what has so many upset.

One simple answer, email all four of them telling them your check for $2500 (my contribution) for STEP is written but will not be sent if a class B/NFL assistant coach is hired. In addition, I'm letting them know my $1000 check to the college of education will no longer be sent, if there is a deemphasis on football. Dollars and your voices talk. Speak up, not here on the 247 board but to the four individuals and do it tonight while there is still time to make a change!!!!

I understand the frustration, but this is an unprecedented situation. And this is all still assuming you won't like the hire.

Sorry, but I'm not giving them the excuse card. Like I said this hire or any NFL OC/DC hire could have been made weeks ago. They could have gone to Scrap, LJ, or Vandy. You are fine with it..great...I think it sucks to be honest if it's this. I'd rather see Scrap who has been there 30 years give it a go for a year or two. Maybe they still shock us, but this looks like a mess right now, sorry if me saying that bothers you.

It is possible, if they were confidant about "plan A," he was worth the wait. Once again, this is all assuming it's not a home run hire.

I think the Scrap situation sucks, too, btw. I don't see them risking it, though.

Absolutely right. The only way the search should still be going on is if the hire is Miles or Saban. That is the only acceptable reason for not naming a coach by now. If it were an NFL guy (Munchak), it should have been announced on Monday.

So the rabbit better be Miles or Saban!
