New Eagles DC named

Did you see that slop this year? Just for starters we need...

    2 safeties
    At least 1 CB
    At least 1 LB
    One DT
    One SDE
    2 Guards
    Center
    1 Tackle
    QB

11 new starters... plus we need to build some depth. We are far, far away.

The Eagles don't need that many olinemen. They need the ones they have to be healthy. Peters, Herramens, Kelce, and Mathis are fine if healthy. Move Herramens back to guard and get another RT.

Totally agree here just unfortunate they got decimated by injuries. Slot Joekel in at right tackle.

Penn State 7x National Champs, home of the winningest college football coach to ever grace a sideline.

  • Get Coleman out ASAP.

The only one I trust is Herramens and he is merely solid. Peters is great when healthy, but he's never healthy. Kelce is a hard worker, but he is undersized and it shows. Mathis is very good, but his ankle is still giving him issues. The other position is basically open.

This line needs work. If you could tell me that Peters and Mathis will remain healthy, I would feel better... I just have zero trust in that.

Agreed. Anyone know if Dashan Goldson (sp?) from the 49ers is an unrestricted free agent? I thought I heard he was, and he would certainly be an upgrade over that garbage we throw in the defensive backfield every week

  • They did just make a great hire. Alabama's OLine coach is coming to Philly.

EDIT NittanyEagles beat me to it.

He is and I read an article the other day stating it would be hard to resign him according to the guy/source. Can't remember the source or I'd link it. Also look at a guy like Paul Kruger if we're going to the 3-4.

Those are two names at the top of my wish list. Also would like to add a veteran 3-4 LB.

I think we all agree the secondary blows so here's the FA list.

    Corners:
    Brent Grimes
    Cary Williams
    DRC
    Aqib Talib
    Sean Smith

    Safeties:
    Ed Reed
    Dashon Goldson
    William Moore
    Jairus Byrd
    Louis Delmas

I wouldn't mind bringing back DRC I think he can ball. Grimes is good just small, Cary Williams came up huge for the Ravens on their run and probably let him walk with their 1st rounder Jimmy Smith awaiting more PT. Any safety but Reed he's just past his prime and those other 4 are young and an instant upgrade over any of our safeties.

Delmas also has a real hard time staying healthy. I like Goldson and Moore or Byrd.

  • I think we all need to relax. Billy Davis certainly doesn't get us fired up but he is a very well respected LB coach who has coached some marginal talent into very good players. The 4-3 under front is the new en vogue D in the NFL after Seattle's success last year.

I think we need to be completely honest with ourselves and realize that defense no longer wins championships. This year's Super Bowl featured two 30+ point performances by offenses and neither team had great scoring defenses. You need a D that can force turnovers and you need players. Let's give this guy a chance. Everyone complains that CK has no NFL experience and then he hires a guy with 20+ years in the NFL and we hate that two.
