  • Last year O'Brien didn't stray too far from his coaching tree with the hires he made. Coaches like guys they are comfortable with, but with that said, he only has to fill one spot versus an entire staff so he has more time to play with in my opinion. I'm sure he'll have plenty of interest especially following his speech to his colleagues on Monday. He outlined his principles in coaching and running a program. You could tell he earned a lot of respect with the job he has done over the last 12 months.

    Some of the posts on twitter echoed your same sentiments. Many coaches were in awe by BOB's speech and his vision/demeanor! Glad he's on our side, that's for sure.

    Tennessee Titans: Jonathan Gannon

    Jonathan Gannon enters his first season with the Titans as a Defensive Assistant/Quality Control coach. He joins the Titans after spending three seasons with the St. Louis Rams in scouting. In 2011, he served as a pro scout and was responsible for scouting upcoming opponents and evaluating pro personnel. In his first two years with the Rams (2009-10), he was a college scout who worked the Midwest Region. Gannon joined the NFL coaching ranks in 2007 as a defensive quality control coach for the Atlanta Falcons. His first coaching job was as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Louisville, in 2006. Gannon played safety for the Cardinals, but suffered a career-ending injury after his first season. For his remaining time at Louisville, he served three years as a student assistant. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Gannon was an all-state defensive back at St. Ignatius.     Washington Redskins: Bobby Slowik

    Bobby Slowik is entering his third season with the Washington Redskins and his second season as a defensive assistant coach on the Redskins staff after spending the 2010 season as a video assistant. He is responsible for the breakdown of the Redskins’ upcoming opponents and also assists on the practice field. In 2011, Slowik helped assist the Redskins defense, which showed tremendous progress and ranked fifth in the NFC in yards per game allowed (339.8). Similarly, the secondary made great strides and finished the season ranked fourth in the NFC in passing yards per game (221.1).

  • Younger pro coaches cont. I can't find the Dave Borgonzi bio, but he's a "coaching assistant" from Dallas who coached at harvard before Jason Garrett called him up, and has been working with Rob Ryan the last couple seasons.

    Indianapolis Colts: Roy Anderson

    Roy Anderson enters his first season as safeties coach for the Indianapolis Colts after spending the previous seven years with the Baltimore Ravens. Over the last two seasons, Anderson served as the Ravens defensive assistant/secondary coach, where he handled defensive quality control duties as well as working with the defensive backfield. In 2011, the Baltimore defense finished third in the NFL in total defense (288.9 ypg.), second against the run (92.6 ypg.) and fourth against the pass (196.3 ypg.), on their way to an appearance in the AFC Championship Game. In 2009, his first season as defensive assistant, Anderson worked primarily with the defensive line and helped the Ravens defense rank third in the NFL, allowing 300.5 yards per game. Anderson originally joined the Ravens in 2005 as a player personnel assistant, where he was involved in the NFL Draft and free agency process through evaluating players, organizing free agent tryouts and monitoring potential trade transactions. Prior to joining the Ravens, Anderson worked as a graduate assistant with Louisiana State during the 2004 season. Working with the wide receivers, Anderson helped tutor future NFL players Dwayne Bowe, Buster Davis, Skyler Green and Early Doucet.     Indianapolis Colts: Brad White

    Brad White enters his first season as the Indianapolis Colts defensive quality control coach after spending two seasons as the inside linebackers coach at the Air Force Academy. While at Air Force, White was instrumental in the development of linebackers Jordan Waiwaiole and Brady Amack, who were each first year starters in 2010. Waiwaiole led the team in tackles with 96 in 2010, while Amack led the team with 136 in 2011. Prior to coaching at the Air Force Academy, White spent the 2009 season as the safeties coach at Murray State. He started his coaching career at Wake Forest, where he was a defensive graduate assistant for the 2007-2008 seasons. A graduate of Wake Forest, White started at linebacker for the Demon Deacons from 2002-2004. White finished his playing career with 227 tackles, 19.0 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks and eight passes defensed, while starting 34-of-35 games played. White was a three-time Academic All-ACC selection and was named to the 2004 CoSIDA Academic All-District III team. He was on the dean’s list each semester and graduated from Wake Forest with a degree in analytical finance. White also received his master’s in accounting. White and his wife, Kate, have one daughter, Julia.     Chicago Bears: Mikal Smith

    Mikal Smith is in his third season with the Bears coaching staff and his first as defensive assistant/nickelbacks coach. Smith spent the previous two seasons as Chicagos coaching staff on February 5, 2010. A year prior, he spent the 2009 season as a Bears coaching assistant.

    Green Bay Packers: Scott McCurley

    This marks his seventh year of service with the Packers, having started as a coaching administrative intern in 2006. Was promoted to coaching administrator in January 2007 before his most recent promotion to defensive quality control coach on Feb. 3, 2009. Was a four-year letterman at linebacker for the University of Pittsburgh (1999-2002). Scott McCurley enters his seventh season with the Packers and fourth as defensive quality control coach. He was hired by Mike McCarthy in April 2006 as a coaching administrative intern, promoted to coaching administrator in January 2007, and promoted again to defensive quality control coach on Feb. 3, 2009. In his current role, McCurley’s duties include breaking down opponent game film and analyzing their offensive tendencies. He also provides assistance with the outside linebackers. As the coaching administrator, McCurley assisted in preparing the team’s weekly game plan, preparing game film, and compiling player statistics and grades. His practice responsibilities included working with the scout team and assisting Winston Moss with coaching linebackers. During games, McCurley assisted the defensive coordinator. Before coming to Green Bay, McCurley enjoyed a lengthy playing and coaching career at the University of Pittsburgh. Initially a walk-on athlete who redshirted his first year, he earned a scholarship after his freshman season and lettered all four years at linebacker (1999-2002). McCurley holds the distinction of having the last interception and field-goal block in Pitt Stadium, which closed after the ’99 season, both achievements recorded in a 37-27 victory against Notre Dame. That same season, he earned a spot on the Big East All-Academic football team and graduated in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in movement science with a coaching minor. After graduation, McCurley remained with the program as a defensive graduate assistant. The 2004 team he coached won the Big East championship and a spot in the Fiesta Bowl. McCurley also assisted with coaching the scout team, which was quarterbacked for a year by Joe Flacco, who later transferred to Delaware and became a first-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2008. Born Aug. 1, 1980, in New Castle, Pa., McCurley attended Mohawk High School in Bessemer, Pa., where he earned all-conference honors his junior and senior years, playing at linebacker and offensive line. He also played basketball. McCurley and his wife, Colleen, live in De Pere, Wis., with their sons, Quentin, 4, and Deacon, 2. In his spare time, McCurley enjoys reading, watching movies and spending time with his family.

    Minnesota Vikings: Jeff Imamura

    Jeff Imamura returns to the Vikings in 2012 for his 7th sea- son on the coaching staff. His primary duties include working directly with Defensive Coordinator Alan Williams on day-to- day defensive operations and activities and generating comprehensive scouting reports on opponents. 2011 marked another season of solid linebacker play for the Vikings. Chad Greenway set a career high in tackles, recording 174 over the course of the season and being selected to his 1st Pro Bowl. He also finished his 4th consecutive season leading the team in tackles, which ties him for second in Vikings history, trailing only Scott Studwell who led for 6 consecutive seasons. E.J. Henderson also had a big season, finishing 2nd on the team in tackles with 130 and 2nd on the team with 16 TFL.

    New Orleans Saints: Marcus Ungaro
