The real question is ... what level of more regional/local school causes him to flip.

Not saying its the case, but ...

The kid has two offers to small, very small programs. Is not even in the national database. He's an unknown. He gets an offer from PSU. But PSU won't broadcast that news. Cannot.

So the kid wants to get his name out there to a broader base of schools. What better way to do that than commit to PSU. Instant media attention and recruit rankings, which eluded him before.

What happened if he didn't commit? Nothing. He remained an obscure recruit until he hits the camp at FSU and people see him.

Might be a great prospect. I just see him as uncommitted, looking for exposure. But i will agree that we have a shot here. But not until he visits.

IMO, if any Florida BCS school offers he takes it over PSU.

UCF is a decent program too for a non major, but I believe he'd want to play at a BCS level rather than stay home. However if any of the UF, FSU, Miami, Georgia, South Carolina, GaTech, etc., etc., he's gone.

We need to get him on campus so he can see our facilities and how they compare to the SEC schools he's hoping for, and hopefully that's enough to swing him.

I see no need to be depressed. Even if it is a soft commitment, if bigger programs start to offer or attempt to flip this kid that is further validation of his ability and is also big-boy recruiting down in the ultra-competitive Southern States.

If you want to recruit down there, you have to forget about how we used to do it and continue to recruit your targets and commits through February.

I have no idea whether we keep this kid or not, but I like his potential as a football player and am not as cynical about his rationale behind committing. We still are the leader (Verbal commitment is really only a statement of who your leader is now-a-days.), for his services.

No point in worrying about him jumping ship... out of our control as fans.
