NFL transactions thread

    Really?

Turner's two worst seasons in Atlanta averaged 830 yards rushing and 10 TD's. His other three averaged almost 1,500 yards and 13 TD per. Turner was 30 this past year and has about 1,700 career touches vs. Jackson who has 2,800 touches coming into the year.

I'm not sure what way more productive means, but I'm thinking Atlanta would be happy if Jackson could do 800 yards and 10 TD's.

Yeah, really. Jackson is a powerful bruising every down back. Played in an offense that was behind a lot, with a so-so QB in Bradford, and whoever else QB'd there. Atlanta is fairly loaded on offense with 3 above average wr's, a future HOF tight-end, and a much better QB than St. L ever had. He should run against defenses that can't crowd the box which should afford him the chance to get a lot of yards, and possibly some TD's that Turner couldn't do this past year.

Kurt Warner ... you mean the QB Jackson never played behind?

If winning was easy even losers would do it.

Not to mention the last couple of years of Kurt's in St. Louis weren't what you would call "good".

Good for him, hopefully he can work his way back into the league, but I highly doubt it.

Yea, that's the one. I was responding to the literal (than StL "ever" had) rather than the implied (while Jackson was on the team). That's why the "just sayin'". peace

Huh? Not even sure what to make of this. Pretty sure Ferrigamo was their QB too.

Don't sweat it. Just being a wiseass. Agreed that Jackson will do better behind Ryan, and Ryan > Bradford/Bulger.

My comment got way more discussion than it deserved. Sorry.

No problem. I was just confused by the comment.

  • Broncos release Elvis Dumervil because paperwork for a reduced contract was not submitted on time. That is a horrible error on their part.

  • Eagles Aquire Arreliuos Benn and a 7th rd pick for a 6th rd pick this year and a conditional next year.

I love the move. Very low risk. I always thought Benn had talent. I remember sitting in the stands at Illinois when he broke a punt (or kickoff) return touchdown against PSU. He has good size as well.

Aaron Rodgers is not going to happy with this. They were significantly worse on offense without Jennings.

I'm sure he'll be fine with jordy, James jones, and an increased role for Randall Cobb. Plus, I think they'd be dumb to not utilize their plethora of tight ends.

  • Not trying to hijack here but I don't think this needs another thread. How are my fellow Eagles fans liking the team's moves so far? I think they retooled the defense very nicely for a team going to a 3-4. I'd like to draft Dion Jordan or Milliner if trading down isn't in the cards. Then grab Matt Elam in the early second.

I love what they are doing. The word that seems to best describe their offseason thus far is responsible. They have a ton of cap space but aren't spending just to spend (like say the Dolphins or Chiefs). They are signing below the radar guys or players coming off of subpar seasons to team friendly, market neutral deals. I also love the creativity to go get a guy like Benn who has proven to be a difference maker on ST and maybe even blossom as a receiver under Chip Kelly.

As for the draft, the team has positioned themselves via FA to not have many glaring holes. They still need talent but that can come from anywhere. I will be happy with whatever they do, be it Milliner, Joekel/Fisher, Floyd/Star or Jordan. I cannot, however, hide my desire to have a weapon like Jordan on D. He could be an absolute nightmare who can play all over the field. Chip obviously knows him well enough to know if he is worth the #4 pick. Ideally we trade back a few slots and can still get DJ towards the back end of the top 10 while adding a 2nd round pick to get a safety.

Good for him. His NFL prospects are slim but glad he still can get paid to play football.

That blows IMO. I love training camp at Lehigh and was really excited to go this year. Maybe Chip wants to keep the offense on the hush. Hopefully this is only a one year change.

The loss of tradition sucks but few teams want to leave the comforts of their modern training centers for old style training camp at a small college.

Really like what they've done so far and would like to see them grab Milliner or maybe Jordan.

It's true, and this Giants fan is happy to have a Lion back on the team. Love what Blackburn's given us, but Dan's an upgrade.

I think his agent was trying to sucker the broncos into paying the guaranteed $12m.
