DRC will be good for a few games but he's not a good player. To me he's a real liability on the outside due to the fact that he's so incredibly soft. The Eagles have nothing at corner but wanted nothing to do with DRC. To me hes a classic loser you dont want as part of your lockerroom. I wouldn't get too excited about that pickup. Also.... I've felt Welker is a product of the system. I expect Amedolas numbers will blow Welkers away now. Broncos are really good regardless.

30+ mil under the cap and no starting corners returning after cutting Nnamdi and letting DRC walk says about all that needs to be said about him. Still think they sign 1 veteran corner and draft Milliner at #4 to fill the hole.

I kinda like the kid from Georgia they picked last year. If you get Milliner that should solidify the corners. My concern is that the safety play has beed just brutal. Coleman needs to go.

I agree wouldn't mind getting Elam from Florida or Reid from LSU at the top of the 2nd.

Eagles are on the verge of a deal with former Texans pass rusher Connor Barwin

This would fill the last glaring hole on the D at SAM. I still want them to draft Dion Jordan regardless but they should be able to trust their board and go BPA.

Curious as to where they see Cole, Graham and Kendricks fitting in. I hope they're not satisfied with Cary Williams and Fletcher at corner I'd like to see Milliner come in.

My understanding is that people view Cole/Graham at the 'Predator' role in a Bill Davis D which is a sort of stand-up DE. Kendricks stays at LB but what role depends on if we're talking a 4-3 under or a true 3-4.

Jackson has been consistently declining since 09 and is gonna be 30 when they start the season. He's an improvement over Turner, but I'm not sure why people are going crazy about SJax to Atl.

  • I like what the Eagles have done so far. They aren't just throwing money at names like last year when they ended up not even able to properly fill their special teams.

Idk about that. He's close to decline but he's still a big time back now. Bradford sucks and that allowed teams to crowd the line. That combied with a crappy O-line and Jax probably got hit in the backfield on half of his carries. He still has life in the legs as he average somewhere near 3 yards after contact. If ATL can actually open some hole for him I bet he runs for 12-1300 yards and 9 touchdowns next year.

I'd buy it if teams hadn't been stacking the line against him his whole career. Or if Bradford wasn't arguably the best QB he's played with

Bulger was better than Bradford imo. He could at least complete more than 60% of his passes. And I'm sure you've seen Bradford play. he's awful.

But it's not like they've been riding him into the ground the past few years. He only got 257 carries this year and 260 before that and still got over 1000 yards. I'm sure he'll put in at least 2 more 1000 yard seasons for the Falcons.

I don't think he has two 1,000 yard seasons in him ... mostly because I expect the Falcons to use a couple running backs, but Steven Jackson has been used a lot over his career. We're talking 2,800 attempts or receptions. I don't know if there is a RB in this league that has more career touches at this point ... and most of the 'field' isn't even close to him. Just some of the stats I saw,Jackson has almost two years more touches than any RB in the league.

He is a bruiser, I still think he is a good player, but there is a lot of wear on those tires.

If winning was easy even losers would do it.

I think people believe that Jackson has been significantly hampered by having no WR threats - no defense has to play high safeties against the Rams. It might be that he has a big year with the Falcons

I mean, I'm sure that has hurt him. But people think SJax is all of a sudden going to run for 1200-1300 yards? Unlikely. He was the focus of the entire offense in STL, now he's the 4th option in this offense (they would rather throw to any of White, Julio and Tony). He also will be spelled by a back who is at least capable for the first time. That back will also take a good amount of his receptions away. Jamaal Charles had to deal with a terrible QB and racked up 1500 yards. Dwayne Bowe barely did anything to take pressure off thanks to Cassel stinking. AP dealt with 11 guys keying on him every play and was absurd (unfair to compare the two, obviously, but let's not act like nobody else has dealt with bad QB play and poor receivers - his best games of the season were without Harvin). Alfred Morris ran for 1600+ with a QB eating away at his rush yards and not a great stable of WRs. Marshawn ran with Sidney Rice as his number one WR and still killed it. CJ2K even had a significantly better year and he had nothing + Locker.

Point is, the no WR thing factors in, but it's an excuse for why his numbers have taken significant dips each of the last three years. The big difference each of those years is that Jackson has gotten older and is just not the back he was 5 years ago.

  • Well, right now my team is looking at Dywer or Redman at RB, so I'd take Jackson in heartbeat. Guy can still play.

Playing in Atlanta's offense though you're not going out on much of limb saying he won't get 1200-1300 yards. Let's not forget Jacquizz Rodgers got 360+ carries in 2012.
