    Agree here. Though I will disagree with NevadaNitt about Aaron Williams and Marshawn Lynch. Williams is young enough, that with good coaching he can turn into a pretty good corner or safety. He doesn't lack much athletically - and I thought Wannstedt's D really hung out his secondary to dry. I actually the talent is there to put out one of the better secondaries around. Gilmore and Leodis McKelvin are athletic freaks at corner - it's all about ball skills with those two right now. I think Williams can transition into a Strong Safety, and Byrd is an all All-Pro. The D-Line...it's impossible to be that bad, with that kind of talent. I actually think the Defense is closer to being good, and that idiot coach REALLY held them back. That defense had the least amount of adjustments, blitzes, stuns, or coverages. It was more vanilla than Joe Paterno defenses at his worst.

    I'm hoping Whaley is much savvier with the players he brings, and how much they sign them to, than Nix. I'm glad they let Levitre go though. That's a lot of money for a guard. I'd rather some of that money go towards a legit NFL Linebacking crew (which they started doing with Manny Lawson).

    With this draft, I actually think either a pass rushing OLB or a WR would be the best choice in the 1st round. None of the QBs are worth a top 10 pick IMO, and you never draft a Linebacker in the top 10 unless it's a 3-4 OLB that can bring a lot of pressure - and there are actually a few of those in Mingo & Javaris Jones. letting Stevie work the slot would be huge. I think the Lions and Browns will go defense, if one of Jones and Mingo are availible, I'd love to see the Bills snap him up.

    I think Gilmore has shown signs of being good. Like I've said before, I don't put much stock in rookie seasons for CB's - second year is when they break out. McKelvin is solid as a slot corner, so that's fine. We really need a 2nd outside CB though.

    Wouldn't be surprised at all if Williams moves to safety.

  • My understanding was that McKelvin was resigned to start opposite Gilmore. Don't think the Bills have any plans to sign another starter at corner.

    I don't see McKelvin as an outside starter, personally, but we'll have to see. I'd also watch out for a CB at #8 - Nix loves him some first-round CB's.

    Autocorrect isn't your friend in this post. Reggae Boosh = Reggie Bush.

    If Bush can play like he did in Miami (which was pretty well), then Lions have essentially what they wanted Best to be. Their defense is the main concern, though.

    Its being reported that the deal is 2 years 12 mil. Can't believe the patriots didn't give Welker more than 7 mil/yr or at least match the Broncos offer. I'll bet Brady is pissed even if he wont say it.

    The 12M is fully guaranteed, for whatever that's worth

    The weird part is that the Pats had reportedly offered Welker a 2 year 16M fully guaranteed contract last year. This leads me to believe that Welker probably just wanted out of NE for whatever reason.

  • My Broncos are killing it in free agency this year! Love the pick up of Wes Welker, obviously. Add him to the combo of Decker and Thomas with Peyton throwing the rock...sheesh.

    Excited we addressed our secondary a bit too with DRC. Hoping we draft a CB and S too. I'm still peeved about the debacle our secondary had vs. the Ravens.

  • DRC will be good for a few games but he's not a good player. To me he's a real liability on the outside due to the fact that he's so incredibly soft. The Eagles have nothing at corner but wanted nothing to do with DRC. To me hes a classic loser you dont want as part of your lockerroom. I wouldn't get too excited about that pickup. Also.... I've felt Welker is a product of the system. I expect Amedolas numbers will blow Welkers away now. Broncos are really good regardless.
