NFL Draft!

  • Ever since I was picked in the 6th round, I have been obsessed with the NFL draft. I will watch it all the way through the 7th round. Heck.. I am even interested in priority free agents.

Anybody else as obsessed as me with the draft?

  • Love it, though I'd love the picture a little more if there was more exposure :)

Been a Draft fan for a long-time and I apologize for buying the media hype that Giovanni Carmazzi was a better QB than you!

  • I love the draft, and usually follow it much more closely but have been very busy this spring.

  • I'm not (that) ashamed to say I've watched at least 70-85 percent of the draft for each of the last three years. And this is coming from a guy who can't listen to Chris Berman for more than 10 minutes without wanting to punch himself (and Berman) in the face.

Eagles fans, please tell me that they won't screw up the first-round pick too badly this year.

Everyone else -- what are your favorite and least favorite things about the draft?

  • Love the draft and Jeff I'm as hopeful as you talk in Philly right now 3 names come up a lot Fletcher Cox, Luke Kuechly and Mark Barron. Jacksonville wants out of #7 and we h e the ammo to move up if we covet a prospect that much.

Last year was one of the first times I've been able to watch the draft in full. My sister and brother-in-law moved 2-3 years in a row...on draft weekend. Of course we went and helped, and thankfully they had internet set up during each move so I was able to semi-follow it.

I do like Berman as a Bills fan, but his style can still grate on my nerves.

I love the analysis, looking up players in the later rounds who I don't know, getting familiar with them. I'm not a fan of how long each pick takes - and even how long it takes for the pick, once in, to be announced. There have been times when the team next in line is almost out of time when the pick before is announced. Bothers me - in this day and age, it shouldn't be that difficult to send in a name and say it on stage.

    J-E-T-S jets jets jets
Would be real disappointed if its not Melvin Ingram or a one of the bama kids (Barron, Trent, Upshaw)
Hearing ND WR Malcom Floyd moving up our board, not sure i want to waste a first rounder on a wr....

  • Every year since my freshman year in 05 at PSU ive watched every round of the draft, it's kind of like a mini holiday with my friends. Usually have one tv with the draft, one with the latest madden, and lots of booze haha.

  • I've always been a HUGE draft fan. Just love all the numbers and statistics and always enjoy getting to know the new crop of players in the NFL. It helps me to keep track of who is what team down the road.

As for my Eagles...I really don't know where they go. They have a ton of picks (likely just adding a 6th rounder for Asante) so they will likely be wheeling and dealing like they usually do. Wouldn't be surprised if they move up for someone in the first. McShay has Kuechly going at 5 in his newest mock so he's apipedream and we know the birds don't place that much value on LBs. Fletcher Cox makes a ton of sense. Coples or Barron would require them to admit that Grahem or Jarrett/Allen have been busts. Other than that if Floyd is there it will be hard to pass him up or oe of the top CBs makes sense too.

Considering their lack of glaring needs anywhere they need to go BPA regardless.

I like all 3 of those guys, but I think Kuechly will be gone and Barron will go the Cowboys.
Cox may be around, but I would not be surprised to see him go in the top 10.

  • I lose more interest every year I get older. I think I started making mock drafts when I was about 10yo but don't know much about it this year. I think I saw some stuff about Dallas going after Barron or the guard from Stanford. Personally I'd be happy with either since we've needed a safety for what feels like about 15 years and I'm tired of not having a strong OL.

eh, does not bother me. I think the 49ers just liked how his name sounded and wanted to say it.. Giovanni!
I can't stand the 49ers now. And Alex Smith is an average qb!

I have seen him anywhere from mid 1st to late 2nd.

Sounds like there is a chance he goes late 1st or early 2nd. For his sake it would be cool to see him end up on a winning team last in the 1st.

This year I am busy so I don't get to watch much of it at all. However, I am typically around that 85 percent mark.

Favorite thing about the draft is day two and (now) day three. It is definitely cool to anticipate "what kind of impact the steal of the 5th round will do"

Least favorite thing - Todd McShay...I am not a big fan of the color orange.

  • If the stuff about Blackmon not being that valued by the Rams are true, I won't be shocked at all if Cox lands in the top 10 between them and the panthers.

  • The last time I got to really watch was two years ago. Last year I had class, and this year I am presenting my thesis during the first round. Sucks because we finally got a pick above 22 since we took Dwight Freeney at #11.

Best draft moment, by far, was watching my buddy get drafted a couple years back. That was incredible, I went nuts.

I remember being in Pittsy's apartment when he got the call from the 49ers. Was one of the very cool moments in my years at PSU.

very much so. It started for me in high school and then in college - the draft was during the week way back then. I remember skipping classes at PSU and sitting in those large two story study/community rooms in Pinchot Hall all day in front of the tv. I've missed portions in the past but will immediately upon return catch up online or on the tv making sure to know every pick.

  • As a Browns fan, the draft is the only thing to get excited about each year and we are always near the top! I'd love to see Trent in a Browns uni but i'm worried that Minny will trade out of number 3 with someone that needs a back.
