For those with DVR ... did that Quinn guy ask the Kent State wrestler "How does it feels to be the first national champ for Penn State?"

Congrats to Quentin Wright on winning the 184 lbs NCAA championship bout he competed in. Job well done all around by both him and this entire wrestling program this year.

A late congratulations to Cael and the boys for a wonderful season and for bringing home both the Big Ten and National Championships.

Welcome to Lions 247! Hope you stick around.
You had asked a few pages back why Cael chose to come to Penn State. The over-riding factor was Cael's desire to build a perennial championship program. Penn State was/is the ideal place to do so, for several reasons. First, Penn State sits in the heart of the most fertile recruiting grounds in the country. Pennsylvania, flanked by Ohio and New Jersey, is the wrestling equivalent of Florida, California, and Texas, combined, in football. Second, Penn State's wrestling program enjoys support of alumni and fans that is only matched, and perhaps bettered, by Iowa, Third, with a new training room built a few years ago, Penn State's facilities for wrestling are as good as any in the country. Combined with an already good, although not great, program in place, and financial backing from boosters that allows for the best salaries in collegiate wrestling, the move was likely a no-brainer for Cael.
