is not a destination job right now, but it's becoming one. Mullen has done that for us. We can outpay nearly every big ten team for a coach right now too. 2.8M base with another half million in bonuses. Not a lot of schools paying 3.3 for a coach right now. I can see our coaches leaving for Texas, USC, Bama, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Florida or somewhere like that, but the ongoing issues at Penn State and the pending financial strain the university will find itself in isn't going to allow for a big money hire.
The university's legal team will be $10M a year, easy. The Ath Dept was already projected to be in the red within 10 years due to blooming costs. This will undoubtably speed that process up. The criminal, civil, and NCAA investigations will be expensive and I can't see the AD cutting other sports and bot football because the football program's mistakes.
Not trying to fan flames, but people see Mississippi State for something it's not. Mullen started it, but the booster and the state has bought in big time.
