    This sh!t happens constantly. How many denials did Urban Meyer make in the ten days leading up to his accepting the OSU job? It's what people do nowadays.

    Maybe he isn't interviewing and hasn't been contacted. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the correct one. Occam's Razor.

  • Mullen is not scheduled for an interview with PSU on Monday. He's scheduled for an afternoon meet-and-greet with PSU. I just wouldn't be at all surprised if an interview breaks out, though. (Of course no coach will ever say they are interviewing in case they don't get the job.)

    If he's not coming then why are you over here trying to convince us? You should be on your sight rejoicing in confidence that Dan is staying at MSU. You seem to be doing a lot of work trying to convince us, maybe you are trying to convince yourself and not us.

  • I am on my site. Rejoicing in landing the top DT in the country. The one Dan told he would be at Mississippi State next year. I just drop by to see how y'alls coaching search is going and get tickled that you guys cannot let go of the Mullen to PSU thing even when he denies it.

    In all honesty I hope you guys land a solid coach and are successful. I like PSU. Probably my favorite school in the B1G. I just think some of you are too close to the situation to realize that you might have to take a small step before taking a big step. This cloud is going to hang around PSU for a while, like it or not.

    I have ZERO idea if Mullen is coming to PSU or not. However, your insistence that just because Mullen has said he isn't coming is weak at best. How many examples do you need showing coaches saying one thing and doing another, especially in this exact situation? Again, I have ZERO idea what Mullen is thinking or doing. What I do know is that just because he denies this means jack sh*t in real life.

    What happens if Mullen does take the PSU job? Can I come to your site and tell you over and over again that Mullen denied things?

    What you are missing is that in the grand scheme of things, Mullen IS the step back. If not for the Sandusky scandal we get a much bigger/better coach. Now, we have to step back and take a guy like Mullen.

    I am not missing anything. I never said a step back. I said a small step before a big step. I also realize Mullen wouldn't be your first choice if the scandal never happened. Your first choice in that case would be whoever Joe said it was. We all know that.

    I just think a lot of you guys are running around like chickens with you heads cut off because you haven't been involved in a coaching search in 40 freaking years. Some of you weren't even born the last time you hired Joe. And add to that the fact that we are in a instant news age and everyone on every site wants to be the first one to scoop who the new coach is going to be. It really is amusing to an outsider. Go to A&M's site or some others. Not quite as crazy.
