I disagree. He could be good at times, but he wasn't getting any help from the play calling. So with with an actual good offensive mind calling plays, things can't get worse.

I agree, but I think we do take a step back before we take a giant step forward into a modern offense.

Our old Offense was an execution based offense. It relied on the players to execute their assignments effectively to be successful. That offense works when you have superior players, however, it doesn't necessarily put the players in a position to succeed (see Mumu as a lead blocker on a WR screen, no audibles, few players in motion, etc.) In that old offense, if one player does not execute, the entire offense sputters. It was common knowledge what our O would do based on the down, distance, formation and personnel on the field. Nobody was surprised by our play calling as many fans and players will attest too. My point is, it's difficult for the players to succeed when the coaches do not put them in a position to do so.

NOW, with a modern offense that will be based on creating mismatches in our favor, with plenty of audibles available, including WR routes, motion used to create better matchups and reveal what the D is doing, as well as the use of TE's, our opponents will have no idea what's coming just based on the personnel, formation, down & distance. That's good... BUT, it will also take time for our players to adjust to more audibles and a more complex offense. I can definitely see our Offense struggling early in the season. The Ohio & Virginia games are going to be much closer than we think, but the difference will be whether or not our D can keep the status quo while our Offense gets in gear.

I can see some players eventually thriving in this offense, but it's going to take time. As for our QB situation, I'm hopeful with proper coaching McGloin will improve his decision making and BOB will call plays to minimize his flaws. I guess we'll find out if JayPa was as bad as we all think he was, or McGloin is just not a good QB as many of us also believe, or both, which I'm guessing a majority of us believe.

True but if moxie was not a cocky prick who thought he was an elite qb he would not make so many mistakes and dumb throws and would be a more productive qb. He also would not have a need for fans to try and defend his play by blaming the old staff.

Hey Trock, you are out of bounds.

I'm sorry Trock, Matt is a fighter who's been told he's not good enough ever since he got here, but hasn't quit. I'd go to war on the field or in war with a guy like him any day of the week.

Great call us when you guys get back. I agree he is not a qb he is a fighter. And if he is a soldier like he was a qb you are in a lot of trouble because he is going to miss a lot of open shots. He will bring a .22 to the fight while all the other soldiers have 50 cals. And he will give our the soldiers spot away running his mouth off.

I wouldn't go to war with him. There are teammates that wouldn't go to war with him either. Didn't a teammate cold cock him once?

You mean the teamate who ain't anymore because he was neither a student - Athlete or a good citizen?

My last thought on Matt, where would the program be right now without him?

Right where it is now with him. It's a team, not a game of one individual. Someone would step up in his void.

Your comment "where would the team be right now without him" sounds very much like the McGloin attitude that got him the Moxie name. Football is not a game of individuals, there are 22 players on the field 11 at a time. 1 needs the other 21 to win a game.

We'd be in the exact same spot we are now, except we'd have beaten Florida by 2 touchdowns.

Your boy ain't a good citizen either chief. Not by a long shot.

Talk about Spin. We wouldn't be in exactley the same place we are now.

Imagine a Bolden led team or a totally inexperienced and academically uncertain Paul Jones at the helm. Not the same.

Talk about spin? At least you are consistent in the team being all about Matt, the rest of the team is unneeded.

On rivals as I recall Matt's dad would post from time to time. I assume you are Matt's dad posting now on 247sports?
