It was not judgement, it was a serious question..Can you give some more detail about what it means? But only if it isnt disgusting..

Lol. Sure, it isn't disgusting, except maybe to State fans. We have long accused the Ole Miss alumi of "heppin" recruits out to secure their commitments to Ole Miss. For an example, we had a verbal commitment from the number one recruit in the state of Mississippi last year for 9 months before changing his mind to jump ship to our instate rival after an Ole Miss booster "fell in love" with the truck the recruit was selling and gave him 5k more than blue book value. The booster was just "heppin" him out. Of course, we have no solid proof other than just hear say, but this is only one example of many. Probably just rivalry propoganda, but it's become an accepted term in Mississippi State circles when regarding Ole Miss' recruiting.

It really started when Houston Nutt was trying to get Masoli eligible at Ole Miss a couple of years ago. He claimed he was really just trying to help a young man out and said that he was in the people helping business. Except it sounded like he said people heppin. It has just been a running joke ever since

Dude, I am not saying he isn't going to take the job. In fact, I have said I will believe it when he publically turns it down.

I will say that a few players did say that he told them he had an offer from penn state and turned it down. Now whether that is true or not who knows, but that was what he told them tonight

See, you come over with that attitude and expect everyone to kiss your ass and agree with everything you said? Most State fans understand MSU is not a destination job, but don't act like we are supposed to bow to you because you are big bad penn state

Most PSU fans have nothing but respect for other schools. We are in no position to put anyone else down right now. Many of us are quite upset and ashamed of the events surrounding our school. Thank you for your input on Mullen. I think we would be lucky to get him . Two weeks ago I thought we were getting my high school coach as a hc..thats how bad it looked!!

...and if you're not down with that, then I got 2 words for ya.."suck it!!"

People went to your board for insight and were greeted with a post basically saying GTFO our board you child molesters. One PSU poster, who is most likely a non-paying member to Lions 247 based on his post count and months active, decided to add some gas to your flame thread. I wouldn't expect him to be a member of our boards much longer and it doesn't look like your fans understand they are being baited.

So if Mullen told the players he had an offer and turned it down, that completely contradicts what was stated in that article by him and the AD.

I kno, my point wasnt that I think Mullen is coming to PSU it was just that you cant really believe anything these coaches say all the time.. Personally I think the rumors of Mullen to PSU have been blown out of proportion purposefully.. Possibly by PSU people to try and create buz around our coaching search and ossibly spark interest from others, also I think it is wise of them if they are indeed hyping the info to draw the attention away from this little scandal we had a few weeks back, not sure if you heard about it or not.

When have you ever heard a coach go public saying he was offered and turned it down? Never.

And once again I don't know if it was true, I am just telling you what the players are telling people

Coaches know better than to do so because it will bite them in the ass the next time they are really looking for a job. AD's deny they offered the job in the first place. That is the game.

David Brandon at Michigan didn't offer the job to Les Miles twice last year, no really he didn't... He said, if I were to offer you the job for $4.25 million a year would you take it, NOT will we will give you the job for $4.25 million.

Edit: And your crack on Joe shows how little you do know about the situation. The "old ass" and "piece of shit" as you refer to him.

  • I was born and raised in Central Pennsylvania. And I can personally vouch that Pennsylvania is defined as "Pittsburgh on one end, with Philadelphia on the other end, with 'Alabama' in the middle"! Most folks don't understand that State College is an "Oasis in the middle of Appalachia" [start dueling banjos theme song from the movie Deliverance now].

State College is a "beach or shore" town in the middle of hickdom. Lot's of cosmopolitan atmosphere but only minutes away from "minute-men" type mentality.

That said, my mother was an Army brat during her childhood from 1933 until her Father was killed in Korea in 1948. She was born in Pennsylvania as was her mother and father but traveled far and wide during his military career. They lived in Biloxi, MS for several years, so I am not too quick to bust on MS culture or any other culture that is different from mine, for that matter.

Finally, my Grandfather was the first US serviceman killed in Korea and it was 15 years before I was born. http://www.k-state.edu/history/specialevents/Eisenhowerlecture/eisenhower7.htm (see Harry C. Symmonds).

While I don't share his last name I am proud of him as any grandson could be, and the fact that my mother's family lived in Biloxi, MS is something that I too am proud of, in spite of the fact that I am a life-long resident of Happy Valley, PA and true blue Penn State fan.

    Just sayin'!

This thread is so funny because MSU fans are obviously frightened by losing a coach that has taken their program from ass to mediocrity. The second you realize your role no matter what Dan Mullen does will help you get over you civil war loss and love life with you auntie. YOU ARE.....A DOUCHE post about classless inbreds like yourself. Youre exactly right YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY! Stay there please and always remember keep it in the family

Not arguing. Chicago folks throw em at me all the time and I have a lot of friends that live south of the Mason-Dixon from my time down there. They are some of the nicest people out there. You get assholes everywhere. It's about having more class than them. Hell I make some of the jokes sometimes, but there's a limit and a difference between having fun and being spiteful.

Your very own would be a bit of a stretch. As I mentioned above he/she is trolling your board and your members, yourself included, are taking the bait hook, line and sinker. After reading the first few posts where would expect it to go?

  • You guys are rediculous. We had a few bad posters. Every board does. I've already read how one of your posters compares MS to a third world country.

As I watched the news a couple weeks ago, I could have formed an opinion of the entire PS university....by watching the students protest the firing of your coach. Seems the students should have been protesting what happened to the child.

  • psufankc63, I was born and raised in Biloxi. There is a lot of diversity in that area of the state due to the military and multiple races that inhabit it. I even grew up a Notre Dame fan(before going to MSU).
Mississippians are very tolerable and hospitable people, but please don't come over asking stupid questions and get offended when stupidity is thrown back at you. As mentioned several times, we love Dan Mullen and his family. They have embraced the community as we have them. It would hurt to see him leave, but we would be forever thankful to him for leaving the university better than he found it. To be honest I have always thought of PSU as a good school. The tradition, stadium and uniforms are inspiring to me, but the trash that has ventured over to our site taints the overall view I had of your university. I do wish you the best in recovering from all the recent events, because a university and its fan base should not have to pay for the actions of a few miscreant individuals.

  • FWIW, I really didn't mean to start anything by going over today.

I was looking for some opinions on Mullen, and figured who better to ask than the fanbase? Looking back I realize this was a pretty dumb idea, and should have probably thought for a second before I posted the questions.

Sorry for any trouble I caused. Honest to goodness I'm not a troll, I was just looking for some opinions.
