I am always a little worried about a kid coming from Norfolk or certain schools in VA Beach. I guess you can say the same about Newport News or Hampton as well. School is not emphasized nearly enough down there, so even if you have a good kid who is willing to work, he gets to college and is smacked in the face with what education really is. But yes, you absolutely have to look in that area every year... too much talent there to ignore.

True, but that area has been growing leaps and bounds, thanks to Mike London and the convictions he's begun to instill in educators down there. The project areas were really forgotten until London started coaching as an assistant at UVA years ago. Him and the Beamer family have done a great deal for the communities down there, and not just to better their football programs. They actually care about those communities.

That is good to hear. I lived there three years ago... the school system was odd to say the least. The public schools (outside of Yorktown/Poquoson and one or two in VA Beach) were horrible. You could find good elementary schools, but many kids went to private high schools. That was the case where my house was in Hilton Village. It had one of the finest public elementary schools in the state, but the high school was terrible.
