McQueary

  • Another version of McQueary's story has surfaced. This is the fourth(?) version of it. It's really troubling to me that he can't keep his story straight. If this version is true, it really challenges the entire media narrative regarding Paterno, and probably means that Curley and Schultz will beat their perjury charge. Not that it matters at this point -- the damage is done in terms of perception.

  • I agree with your assesment. There are too many holes for the perjury charges to stick. So, does that mean Curley gets his job back? or if he doesn't, does the university buy him out?

  • My father is a trial lawyer, and his assessment once he read the GJR was, and I quote: "They are going to kill McQueary. This entire thing hinges on his testimony."

He was referring to the defense team for Curley and Schulz. They were going to go after him regardless, but his changing the story over and over isn't helping things. He needs to find himself a better lawyer...

  • If the administration truly wanted to cover this indicent up, I don't understand why they would notify the 2nd Mile of the occurence and the restriction they made on Sandusky. It will also be interesting to see if the administration tried to locate the victim (or called the victim/victim's family if Sandusky did give them his phone number.) It also seems that the administration's action to only tell Sandusky he could not bring children on the campus would seem to indicate that the administration felt Sandusky placed only himself in an inapproriate situation with the child rather than having an actual sexual act with the child. If the administration felt they had evidence to indicate Sandusky engaged in a sexual act with the child and wanted this not to come out, I think they would have had the leverage with Sandusky to get Sandusky to agree to drop his retirement benefits that allowed his access to certain campus facilities and is on-campus office in exchange for not handing over the internal investigation to the police.

  • This would change everything. Instead of knowing and subsequently covering up...it essentially removes PSU from blame and puts it squarely on sandusky.

At least that is how i am reading it. If mcqueary didnt see anything how does he or anyone at psu know what exactly was going on?

The key to this whole mess for me has always been what exactly did McQueary tell Joepa, if it's the new version in this article, then it def should change at least some of the perception regarding JoePa. I am totally biased as someone who has always loved and admired Joe Paterno,so I just can't believe that McQueary told Joe the same version in the grand jury report. It just cannot be. No way. I hope the truth comes out and Joe is around to see it. Then I want all these assholes at ESPN to admit they killed a legend before the truth was known.

can you explain how this changes everything? seems like just 1 person remembering how a conversation 8 years ago went a bit differently.

and by "didn't see anything", what are you implying? a 60 year old showering with a 9/10 yr old is not normal and is enough to see. especially a 60 year old who was let go for no apparent reason in 1998 due to similar accusations.

Why are you here? Get pleasure out of all of this? Sicko.

I don't know, could it be this?

However, Dranov told grand jurors that he asked McQueary three times if he saw anything sexual, and three times McQueary said no, according to the source.

Because of that response, the source says, Dranov told McQueary that he should talk to his boss, head football coach Joe Paterno, rather than police.

You have a Dr. advising McQueary not to call the police because of what he he was just told. Like I said above, I am very much in the camp that this is a Jerry Sandusky issue, rather than a Penn State issue. You're right, it's not normal for showering with kids.

As for the reference to 1998, there was an investigation, but no indictment, or charges. You'll have to ask Tom Corbett about that.

there's far more that we don't know than we do, and my hunch says Penn State was villified, and prosecuted before any facts came out.
