McGloin's biggest flaw

  • I have been thoroughly impressed with McGloin thus far. The improvement he has made under Fisher's and O'Brien's tutelage is undeniable, but what is up with those qb slides...

Valid argument. But hey, Minnesota is undefeated and they have a daywalker starting now that Gray is hurt...

  • His slides suck, but he also shot puts balls when he throws them. He has the arm strength of a dead guy.

  • McGloin has been fantastic, but i thought this was his worst game....he made some very bad aggressive decisions early. Then again, kid makes great plays as well...his ability to see the defender jump the slant on the robinson touchdown was a great read.

The arm strength thing is getting old guys.....no need to remind us every week that he doesnt have a strong arm. Who cares...he is our best weapon right now.

First off Robinson is our best weapon right now. Second off that was the play it was not a great read by mcgloin it was a called play. Do not sugar coat mcgloin. He is a sub par qb that ob offense has made look better then he is. His long throws are awful and most of his throws are short do to arm strength. Some of you guys like to form these rules on evaluating players which sound like elementary school anti bully rules.

  • Mcgloins biggest flaw is he has one good wr and no game-breaking rbs. If he had either he would be killing it hate him or not.

Being a bit harsh. McGloin currently is completing 61.6% of his passes, has a 9-2 TD/Int ratio and 1006 passing yards. He is currently ahead of Matt Barkley in passing yards and completion percentage. While I don't expect that to last, McGloin is the leader of a new offense, has a very limited running game, an OL returning 1 starter, lost his top 4 receivers from last year, and doesn't have an incredibly strong arm; but he is producing...cut him some slack based on the results.

  • By your analysis I'm surprised he can get out of bed in the morning, give credit where it's due.

We're 2-2 with wins against Navy and Temple.

He's brutal under pressure and diwn te stretch, so if he's doing this throughout the big ten season and manages to not embarrass himself or the team off the field he'll deserve some credit. A high school qb (which he basically is) beats those two teams.

  • I thought McGloin threw his best pass of his entire career today. It was the 1st half and he hit the WR on a deep out route and just got enough air to avoid being picked off. Seeing it live I thought it was a bad throw that almost got pickd but on the replay it was just a great, accurate strong pass, which is something I can't say about his throws very often.

Whats up with him counting his TDs and flashing his fingers? Bothers me a lil bit...

He is an embarrassment off the field, though.

Has he not told you yet? He's winning the Heisman this season, and he'll be an NFL starter next season.

Temple, UVA, and Ohio are probably about as good as most Big Ten teams we'll be facing

Except OSU, Purdue, and Northwestern, I agree.

The B1G is pathetic this year. Not much difference between us and the Big East.

Loved that after his 4th td pass against Navy. Navy. What a team player. Also, if you look at the picture posted of our team singing Navy blue and gold with the academy, our "leader" is nowhere to be found among the group (he's wearing a hat at about the 50 yard line), as he apparently couldn't be bothered to join the rest of his mates in honor of a team that allowed him to look like a D1 player. But hey, he's beyond reproach and pointing this out just makes me a hater...

He did it this week too... It needs to stop. He's still a douche... I love the way he's progressed under BOB, but the "me" stuff is a little crazy. He will still probably look bad against good teams and we need others to step up when that happens (OSU, Purdue- not many good teams in the Big 10 lol)...
