Well, like it or not, $ is the only thing that matters. Why would a school like Maryland, a charter member of the ACC, even consider jumping to the BIG? Or Nebraska from the Big12? It's all about the dollars.
And like it or not, fair or not, when the Sugar Bowl wanted OSU and Delaney to negotiate a delayed suspension for those 5 players, that decision made the conference more money than if they would have not played and got blown out. A BIG team, defeating an SEC team is good for the conference, period.

Well if it were all about $$, wouldn't it be in the best interest of the B1G to have PSU in Bowl Games?
Obviously there is a balance between Risk and Reward and PR plays a major role in that.
Delaney is a hypocrite. Yes he did the Risk Assessment when supporting OSU during their cheating. He also did a similar Risk Assessment during the 2nd Mile Sandusky Scandal and decided to side with the popular ESPN narrative instead of coming forward to support Penn State.
What's good for the Conference should also translate to what's good for the individual conference members. Hence, my conclusion that Delaney and the B1G have two darlings and the rest are chaff. Which probably describes what the B1G loves the Huskers and has treated PSU with a cold shoulder ever since we joined.
At least the addition of MD and RU should help to penetrate, or at least dilute the Midwest culture of solitude.

That balance would only exist if the two situations were equal. They were far from it. Anything else is your obvious bias getting in the way. That happens. This was an NCAA decision that Delaney wisley let them handle. I have no issue with PSU not sharing in the bowl pot. They aren't eligible for bowls. Now OSU shouldn't either, and I've said that. But the OSU and PSU situations/events are lightyears different in a number of ways.
