How much of that is Boston? And I know a lot of people in NJ that hate Rutgers and watch PSU or other teams anyway. But I hear you- I didn't realize that Mass was that small. How big is Boston's TV market?

Looks to be the #7 market in the country with 2.4m tv homes. The issue with total pop (and why i posted it), was because the B1G network is a local sports channel on Dish Network and I believe Direct Tv. The BTN also has a deal (at least how this way) that allows (requires) for the major cable providers to put it in their full cable package (not a bonus package) if the home state is within the BTN. PSU and NJ will assure NJ is fully under BTN now. Maryland (obviously we both know the following) will help into the DC market.
Boston College is also private (Northwestern, I believe is the only other private institution) which may be a drawback. HOWEVER, if ND ever feels the need to go to a conference the B1G will (obviously) be a player because of their financial base. They may want another Catholic institution, and could drag BC along. Also, Idk how BC does in research and is obviously smaller with only 11,000 enrollees.

I live outside of Baltimore. Have Comcast's mid-tier package and it does *not* include BTN. Would have to upgrade to their Premier package to get BTN. On the other hand, I can now use the (somewhat crappy) BTN2GO to watch games. That's what I did for the Indiana game.
