Which site are you suggesting is "TOS"....BWI or FOS? The guy on FOS specifically said it would be an addition only.

You are amazing...You continue to be negative and so pessimistic about stuff.

Calm down. Its message board rumors. I believe the MD to the BIG is a done deal, but all this worry about kicking us out? That is about as bad as the OB to Auburn rumor.

If they do, they do. Penn State is STILL Penn State and always will be.

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game, life or football-the margin for error is so small. -Pacino

WTF are you talking about? There was nothing normative about my statements. I reported facts.

And how am I pessimistic? I've been beating the positivity drum the last few months. You have my confused for someone else.

I would LOVE to leave the B1G. We belong in the ACC. It would help us considerably, IMO.

  • So I guess with no good teams this year, the B1G still wants to grab the headlines heading into the final week of the season?

    PSUfan28

  • Trust me, PSU is NOT getting dismissed from the BIG....IF MD is added, there will be another to come with them to get the BIG to 14 teams.

I'm still not sold on MD to the BIG. Not that they aren't coming, just don't understand why it would be them.

No one said anything about PSU being dismissed. It would be voluntary.

If the BIG kicked us out, or we voluntarilly left, and we went to the ACC, it could be the best thing to happen to this program since O'Brien became HC

My bad, I guess I misunderstood. I know a lot of the talk in the other MD to BIG thread was if PSU would get kicked out.......etc.

If you choose to leave, I hope it works out for ya.

Wait, why would PSU even want to leave the conference in the first place, especially when you consider the monetary component of being part of the Big10?

I agree, if PSU leaves the B1G it will be by their own doing. Perhaps they are fed up with being treated as a second class citizen much like Nebraska was in the Big 12. The ACC is now a viable option and perhaps the PSU admin thinks they are a better fit. Not saying this is fact just thinking out loud.

    PSUJT0409

  • First question - why are PSU reporters the first ones officially (and publicly) stating this? Weird.

I don't know who Steve Jones is, so I'm still not sold, but there certainly is a lot of rumblings. Maryland continues to make zero sense, but whatever.

And how is PSU being treated as a "second class citizen"?

Steve Jones is pretty well known..The voice of PSU football.

He wouldnt tweet something if it wasnt a sure thing, IMO. It is a good question, why would we know first? (I mean, we are the first to have a high profile PSU guy to tweet this info -- not some radio shock jock or message boards).

I'm not convinced that the monetary benefit of being in the B1G is so significant that it would trump the cultural and institutional problems we have encountered since joining.

The ACC is a good place for us athletically and culturally, especially with Pitt and Cuse now a part of the conference, and ND a partial member.

Are you kidding? Steve Jones is the most reliable PSU source that could possibly exist. He wouldn't say something that wasn't absolutely true.

Funny because the money is the only thing that matters. The other stuff is fluffy bunny BS. PSU gives the cashup, they are nuts. Especially with the situation they are in now and all the bills they are about to be paying.

How much do you guys think the rmedia ights for the next 15 or so years will cost PSU? I'm guessing $70m as a deal. Likely over $100m

    MTayl72

  • As much as I'd like to join the ACC from a selfish personal standpoint, the only way it makes sense is with ND fully joining also. ND plus PSU would be a monetary homerun for the ACC. Other than that, it makes no sense.
