I might have misunderstood the directions. I looked at it more like the twenty kids I would like to take in this class. I did put them in order of a need/talent with the exception of Mahon (I learned how to spell his name). To my knowledge, he was the only kid without a scholarship that I absolutely wanted but wasn't sure would be aloud given the directions. I just tried to sneak him in at the end!
I think Foster is a complete game changer. Not so sure we have a legitimate chance to land him but if the planets aligned, it would be THE homerun of the class IMO.
As far as Burns vs Hackenberg, I really like them both. I picked Burns and excluded Hackenberg for two reasons. One, I know we're only going to end up with one of them and I like Burns' raw mechanics a little more than Heckenberg's (mostly the throwing motion). I agree that Hackenberg is more polished. Two, I guess I would just like to see where O'Brien and Fisher could take Burns. I think we win with either one.
I can see why there are allot of people torn on Issah, especailly with the film that's out there. I've had a chance to see this kid play and IMHO the film doesn't do him any favors. I might fall into the "homer" catagory but I really believe he comes in between Azalone and Deeb.
Lastly, I'm just an armchair QB who benefits from the knowledge the rest of you guys have who know what your'e talking about.

I had a little trouble with where to put Switzer. I thought about having him as high as 7. Newby and Bower were two guys that almost made my list. I didn't like Newby as much as I thought I would based on his rating. He wasn't quite as fast and explosive as I though he'd be. He's very similar to Issah and since I had him on I couldnt justify having Newby also. What are your thoughts on McGlinchey? I like his upside with the strength program in place and Mac as the OLine coach. Could see him turn into a 6'9 325-335 pound, quality RT. Drennon was another guy I really wanted to add but didn't have room since I had Allen (my pipe dream of the early year) and Sickels already on the list.

I like Newby, as I think he has a couple Vorro B playing qualities, though I dont think of him as NB or at that level quite yet. I like Brown too(who I see I missed on here).
McGlinchy is solid. I like the potential like you said.
Seriously, by next month we will have more offers out likely. We will also maybe have an idea on a position or 2 more.
I would definitely NOT have 2 QB's on my list. If one commits, the another spot opens up on my board as the other will drop off completely. I dont want 4 corners. Put a bunch on there as we need 2. We get 2, others drop off.
Also the list certainly changes if some kids get offered. Averett, Kinlaw, Mahon, Montelus would certainly be on mine for example.

Just because you want one QB over the other... doesnt mean that you dont have any interest in the other though.
Sure you would love Hack... but if he falls off of the board you're then taking a guy thats not on your list at all and replacing him as number one?
And are you saying if you like Hack you cant like Burns and are not allowed to have any interest in the guy at all and would not take him as well? (Yes, I know they wont be going to the same school.)
As far as corners go, considering what we have right now and the scheme Roof is bringing, I think I'd certainly love to take 3 quality corners that give us the ability to possibly move Amos to safety and solve what we have going on there right now.

Didnt say anything of the sort.

I have 2 on mine big board list. If one commits, doesnt matter how much I like the other..he is coming off. I only want 1 QB in the class. If I had just Hack on my list, and he committed elsewhere, yes I would take a guy not on the board and put that QB immediately in the top 5. QB is a top 5(conservative) need this cycle regardless
"And are you saying if you like Hack you cant like Burns and are not allowed to have any interest in the guy at all and would not take him as well? (Yes, I know they wont be going to the same school.) "
Again, no. NOt seeing where you are coming up with this interpretation. You can have interest in 15 QB's. Pick a name for me, once that QB commits, he is all I want to be part of the class. I only want 1. Thought that was clear.

Ok I may have misinterpreted what you were saying.
When you said "I would definitely NOT have 2 QB's on my list" I misunderstood and figured you wouldnt have 2 on your big board list... and thats what I didnt get. Even though I would love to get Hack, its not like Burns is chopped meat by any stretch of the imagination.
And I agree that if Hack signs, you then drop Burns completely off. However until one of them signs, I didnt see a problem with initially putting two on the list, which I thought you were saying you couldnt see doing.
So yeah. I work third shift and that was toward the end of the night.
But yeah, I agree with all of that stuff then.
