Ie: the leadership...Are you kidding me . I don't know where all this BS about McGloin comes from. OK he threw 5 picks in 1 game (do you think if we had our current staff that would have happened) . He also gets in a scuffle with a kid who by all accounts could never stay out of trouble and was kicked off of the team. Do I agree with all of the antics ...not really. Ask yourself the question..Where would this team be without McGloin?

Wrong. His stats are better. A&M's adjusted for opponents stats in success rate + explosiveness (advanced metric for QB's) have them as the 9th best passing game in CFB. PSU's are 68th. Manziel's standard quarterback rating is better as well. JM has better stats.
And 100/100 people would take JM over MM on the field.

Ok, good idea. But, just to be clear - McGloin has more completions, more yards passing, more passing TD's and less interceptions than Manziel. But Manziel has many more yards rushing. And a higher completion percentage. Are we good ??

I think you have to give BOB a lot of credit. His system gets the play in quick and gives the QB time to see what the defense is doing and make simple changes if necessary. Last year we had an offense that was highly predictable, and MM was told to just run the play as it's called. No quarterback is going to flourish in a system like that unless he has highly superior athletes around him that can just execute the play and inflict it's will on the defense. I really think this is the big reason for all of MM's perceived poor decisions and throws in years past. This coaching staff trusted him from day one and gave him a lot of authority to change things on the fly and that's been the big difference.

Absolutely B.O'B gets a ton of credit! No question about it! But I just wanted to give Matt some credit in my OP - but that obviously back-fired.... instead of recognizing an incredible improvement, what we instead focused on is why Johnny Maziel is better. Which is fine - threads take on their own personality....

MM: more comp, yds and TD's & less ints than Johnny Football.
