After seeing several true freshman start and play quality snaps last season, do you see any of these guys doing the same? Seems like the guys that could make impacts are either at developmental positions (Mangiro) our still be buried on the depth chart (Belton).

Oh, and please save the jokes about OG not being a position of development at PSU! Haha

Couple questions...

Not sure if you heard SVP yesterday, but he was discussing the need for an early signing period in college football recruiting... I know that Joe has been in favor of this for years. Do you have any reason to believe that the NCAA will take a look at this?

Sorry if I missed this, but what time do you expect to hear something final on Amos?

Personally I would like to see something from the NCAA on the subject of an early signing period, but I don't foresee any changes in the way they do things in the next couple of years.

I expect something later this afternoon, dependent on the weather down there. The time I was told was 3:00, but that was tentative.

So it's looking like there will be no decommits or last minute switches for us? That's a pleasant surprise since this class is so small. Maybe adding Amos?

Are there any other potential surprises within the Big Ten?

Michigan and Ohio State are still waiting on some guys, OSU especially is waiting on Darius Jennings and Curtis Grant.

Kline is a tall kid who is more athletic than he is given credit for and he's got an excellent nose for the football. He can play both inside and out, I expect him to end up inside. If I'm comparing him to someone at Penn State, I would say Mike Yancich.

Kerner is a guy who could end up on either side of the ball. He's got a great motor, very good instincts (he was a high school linebacker) and a big body. He's got plenty of room to add weight (he's about 220 right now). I would say he compares to C.J. Olaniyan but a little more polished.

Reports are that Fera is inconsistent when it comes to FG. The coaches see him every day, so the fact that they offered a kicker should tell you something.

I thought he did well as a punter this year. He will continue to improve.
