  • Can't be emphasized enough how much these last few B1G wins can do for our program moving forward. Guys have to start feeling some confidence heading to the offseason and knowing they will be getting Tim Frazier back. Newbill and Marshall grew up a lot as the season progressed and I'm extremely happy their hard work has paid off. No matter what this teams record is, they absolutely gave their all every game and never quit. Will always enjoy rooting for a team that gives that kind of effort no matter what. Pat Chambers has got to have a smile on his face moving to the offseason this year.

Agreed. It is similar to how the season ending wins over IU and MSU in 2004 propelled a 4-7 football team to the great run in 2005.

This was my first thought as well. I'm really proud of these young men working so hard even when things haven't gone their way all season. They have represented PSU very well throughout a very rough season.

  • Had a great time at the game and give credit to the guys for fighting hard the entire game!! Great job and congrats to Chambers. He needed this win and deserved it. Quickly becoming one of my favorite coaches!!

  • Not completely saying I want to lose on Sunday, but if PSU beats Wisconsin they'll be playing them in the tournament. If Wisconsin wins, there's a decent shot PSU plays Michigan. I like the match-up a lot better with Michigan. Wisconsin will force PSU into a game they can't win, shooting well.

  • Lets keep the wins coming while rolling into the B1G tourny...doubtful it happens, but I am staying on the positive side and being a minor homer.

  • I'll take the win. Only really losing Sasa. Frazier is back next year and he's leaps and bounds ahead of Nick.

  • Wooo. Glad to see the team broke out of that two year road losing streak in conference play. Here's to hoping they can knock off Wisconsin to end their season as well, just like the football and hockey teams did.

Plus don't forget our team leading charge taker! Nick Colella. It's to bad that Sasa elected to not come back next year. When he has finally started showing signs of becoming our long lost 3rd contributor.

  • I too wish Sasa would have had the extra year, but glad to them them finally overcoming and winning, even against NW, on the road. Got to help their attitude going into next season.

  • Sasa's improvement over the past few games, albeit tiny, shows what an effect a big man can have who can acutally make even a small contribution. Not to get carried away though. They really desparately need a big inside, even an undersized one, to take some of the heat off the perimeter.

Hats off to Patty and the boys! Peakin' at the right time of the year.

I do not think Sasa was given choice.
Collella is terrible.. he made such boneheaded play near the end of the game. PSU miss one on one foul shot and the ball bounce off to the side.
Keep in mind there is only 1:11 seconds to go in the game. So what does Collela do dives at the feet of NW play and fouls him.. Are you kidding me?? There time to play aggressive and time to play smart. If he played the NW player close they may use up 10-15 seconds getting the ball up the court and rush a shot. Instead no time off the clock and NW player makes both foul shots to close it 2 pt. lead. Lucky usually those type of plays come back to haunt you Glad we were not playing a very good team.

I couldn't agree with you more on the bad foul issue. However, everyone makes bad choices once in a while. I wouldn't say he is terrible at all. This kid works as hard if not harder than anybody else on the team. IMO...without him and the hustle that he brings, our record could have looked a whole lot worse that it does.

I love Nick. He hustles. He has guts! He's tough! Unfortunately, he just isn't BIG talent. As much as I love what Nick is... Its not good for our program that he is a starter.

More talent is on the way!!
