June is and was expected to be productive in some regard. Either straight up verbals or leaving June with a nice lead for some that may wait a little longer.

Bell's LB film reminds me of a smaller Brandon Short in HS. Strongest, toughest guy on the field............

By the end of July, we'll have a top 10 class. Add Benton, Williams and Johnson(just call it a hunch), with the new addition of Bell, and this class is shaping up to be a possible top 7-8. Now the main focus needs to be on DBs, and a stud like EV(even though he may be a long shot).

Farrell had a breakdown of a NJ elite camp. Bell came in as the overall #1 skill position player at that camp. Paul Harris came in at #10. In two separate camp breakdowns Bell gets praised for his ability to cover down field, close, and get his head turned. The only knock was his height which to me at LB is extemely overrated. Nice to have but 6-0, 6-1 is plenty big as he has a pretty wide frame to begin with. I smell a run on LB's and it smells pretty damn good.

We won't be top 7-8.
Right now, you have USC, FSU, Oklahoma and Clemson behind us and they are going to get alot of high end kids. Standing 12th right now, I can see PSU possibly passing two ahead (Auburn and USCe), three at most and that doesn't count the schools that could still very well pass them.
Top 7-8 class ... you better pull in the following to possibly achieve that - Williams, D. Johnson, another solid receiver, Benton, Anzalone, Barnwell, and steal a significant piece like Vanderdoes

3 star kid in the mid 30's at LB. I think the only real knock they had on him was his HT. I think Scout had him at 13 overall for ILB. He isn't the super elite LB recruit, but apparently can move fairly well. I think he'll be fine with Vandy coaching him up. Nice to see the LB's come onboard and it looks like LB could be full within a month or two at the most.

The two biggest knocks on him were his height an early on, recruiting sites questioned if he could cover in pass defense. As stated above, he did really well in pass coverage at the VTO event, so that shouldn't be an issue. He is underrated on 247. I think he is more of an 87 type player, not an 83. JMO.

Yeah, solid pick up but definitely won't help the recruiting ranking in the end (not that I care) as he is not a highly ranked kid. Just give me Benton in this linebacker class and I don't care who else we get.
