As someone who helped get this thread off-track, I'm going to try to steer it back on... The tweet is attached below, and as I read it, I thought it was confusing at best and possibly misleading. If that is due to my own lack of reading comprehension, then my bad.
Nevertheless, welcome the the Penn State family Tyler! Can't wait to see you in the Blue and White...

1)That tweet is not Mark Brennan. 2)It was clearly an honest mistake. 3) I take issue with anyone criticizing Brennan as he has displayed more integrity and professionalism in covering PSU than anyone on the net for many years. 4)I have no problem with WSM taking up for Mark. He's a good poster who calls a spade a spade. Sure he ruffles some feathers, but his contribution is always appreciated IMO. I think 42 and some others would back me up on that.

Is that right that he has 4 years to play 3 at PSU? I thought all JUCO guys play two years at their respective JUCO and then only have two years of eligibility remaining when they transfer to another school?
If this is the case and Ferguson does indeed win the starting job this offseason, he could theoretically be the starting QB here for the next three seasons and a guy like Bench would never have an opportunity to start in his collegiate career (not like that was a guarantee anyways without the addition of a JUCO QB) and Hackenberg wouldn't start until he was a junior (if he redshirts this upcoming season).

Waters really did seem like a perfect fit in that he'd be coming in with more experience (than Ferguson) and eligibility-wise it set up a perfect transition to Hack taking over as a redshirt sophomore. There might be the tiniest bit of disappointment on Hack's part that we just grabbed another QB whose eligibility significantly overlaps with his. Such is life in big-time college football though. I think Hack is still super solid to PSU. I don't think he's going to renege on his oral commitment to PSU. That being said, I think that Waters' extra year of experience and eligibility situation was one of the reasons, maybe not major reason, the staff established unequivocally that Waters was target A.
