Last Holding Call Against B10 Opp Was in 3rd Qtr of NW Game!

  • Get this...No holding calls today on Nebraska's 57 runs (though I saw at least 7 blatant tackles or jersey pull downs right in the middle of the play the refs could not have missed it)...

Also get this (attributed to jack66 on Scout):
"Here is what is even crazier. The last offensive holding call against a Big 10 opponent was in the 3rd quarter of the NW game.

17 straight quarters without a holding call. That is not blindness, it is willfull ignorance."

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game, life or football-the margin for error is so small. -Pacino

  • Makes sense... MM said what we all wanted to say during the press conference. A lot of respect for that guy right now. And I never thought Id say that...

  • I've been wondering when the last one was. Pretty amazing stat considering PSU has at minimum 3 kids who will be in the NFL next season in its front seven. Don't need a tin foil hat to see this one. Despicable and shameful.

  • Does anyone know what the average number of holding calls there are against a team per game? I'd be surprised if it was less than one.

  • If this is true, this may be the biggest story of the season. PSU staff seriously needs to look into this. I literally notice at least 5 BLATENT holding against PSU every game....OSU and Nebraska being the worst. Somebody should make a highlight video of all the major missed holding calls this season...it would probably be about 30 minutes long. I am still fumed and likely wont be able to sleep tonight...gun

  • This info needs to be emailed to BOB, Joyner and that arrogant prick, Delaney. I really hate the Big Ten. When you look up the word "fraud" in Webster's Dictionary, you see the Big Ten logo.

  • I will say, the Big Ten officials have always allowed more holding than other conferences. In bowl games you will see Big Ten teams get called for a lot of holds because they get used to "the Big Ten way". I hate Big Ten officiating. Hate it.

I'm with u on this . Saw a bunch of non calls in that game . I hate to think conspiracy theory but the big conference and their refs blow. This is how I feel about this conference .

I re-watched the game when I got back from the stadium. I noticed a few big holds that were missed, but for the most part, and especially in the 2nd half, they just pushed us around or we did a stunt that opened up the running lane. There were a few big holds on our DE's on 2nd and 10 / 3rd and 10 type situations that extended drives however, and those are the ones that have to be called. They were calling them on us.

I was way more upset about the TD, safety, and sideline interference on a shanked punt.
