Kiffin You Are Scum

  • pdxtroy said...

I came in good faith to commisurate and straighten out some facts. Sorry you are not the usual PSU fans that have interacted with USC through the years

Dude, that is fine coming in good faith. However, coming over here and defending the actions of Kiffin is a bit much. He isn't liked outside of Watts. I lived in Tennessee and know tons of staff members in that athletic department. It's not the fans who didn't like him, the staff didn't.

His reputation and ethics aren't highly thought of.

So, I'm not the usual PSU fan because I think he is a sleaze? I think you need a reality check. Probably 95% of the knowledgeable PSU football fans think he is a sleaze. I'm in the majority, not minority.

If you want to talk about football or Kiffin going after Redd, which I have no problem with - I'm all for it. However, don't bring up his good highly-respected character. We all know better. Agree to disagree.

Is that true that USC doesn't have the required courses for his major? And is it confirmed that he's flying out there?

I don't know where this nonsense is from, but USC has both marketing and advertising as a major.
I doubt that would be an issue at USC.

I honestly want the best for Silas Redd too, so does the rest of his family.
Redd risks not getting the boat load of rushes to carry a football team, he either chooses to come back to Penn State and play out his career regardless of how well Penn St does or doesn't do during the season.

My question is, how will Penn State react to adversity? How will your team's two weaknesses (Offensive Line, QB play) play out coming into next season? I don't want to say anything bad about Penn St, but I was reading that Penn St's Oline and QB rank at the bottom half in the B1G. Redd is literally the main offensive weapon on your team.

USC reacted two ways during our sanctions, in 2010, the upperclassmen gave up in competitive games versus Oregon, Washington, Notre Dame. Matt Barkley was complaining about how the older players only "cared about going to the NFL, getting the season out of the way without getting hurt". Leadership was a mess.. Our team didn't recover until last season, when 13 freshman stepped up and led our team to 10 wins last season..

Penn St is on an extremely emotional high, after losing some players, will Redd be able to get the maximum performance out of his team in order to get the exposure he wants? Or will his team worry about "not getting hurt, coast through games".. His livelihood depends on how well Penn State does next season.

I will never discount Penn State, since PennSt is a top school in the B1G. However, this is basically a business decision versus a personal decision.

Redd will be welcomed with open arms and he will play every game next season, if he chooses to go to USC. How many carries he gets, will completely depend; USC tends to ride the hot hand, we don't use feature backs, haven't had to in years. If he chooses to stay at USC to finish his degree, he can, if he wants to be one-and-done, either is good for USC or Penn State.

Btw, Penn St. fans can have their opinion about CLK. USC fans can't complain, he's done everything in his power to get our team back to the national stage, he's done stupid and douchey things in the past, but so far he's done nothing at USC to make USC look bad. Penn State will have to learn to ride this wave, for better or for worse. Sanctions have different effects on different teams.

Good Luck Penn St, Fight On.

We had 7-8 so good players transfer from USC during the release of our sanctions in 2010

    This included:
Malik Jackson (2nd Team SEC 2011 @ Tenn)
Jarvis Jones (1st Team SEC, All American @ UGA)
    DJ Shoemate, RB UConn
    Blake Ayles, TE, Miami
    Jordan Campbell, OLB, New Mexico/Louisville
    Glen Stanley, FSU
    Travon Patterson, Colorado
Seantrel Henderson, OT, Miami * (he decommitted and sent his LOI to Miami after the sanctions were handed out, he originally committed to USC on NSD. Now he's on the verge of being kicked off of Miami....)

We know what it's like to lose good players, but at the same time, you come to appreciate the players who REALLY LOVE your school.

    FightOn86

  • Oh yeah, FightOn86. I'm well aware it will be brutal.

2014 is my real worry. We should do fairly well this year, and I mean no offense, but we don't have the NFL draft culture that USC has. While we send a healthy amount of kids to the NFL, it's not PSU's focus and never has been. We have different types of kids. Again, no offense. And I might be wrong, I am merely referring to the general trend of PSU players.

I actually anticipate oline being a strength this year. OB has said it and with our new and proper S&C coach (we used HIT previously, we now use Olympic style lifting. The HIT debate is one that has raged through the PSU fan community... In fact, to mention it is to say the "name that shall not be named"...). They are much stronger and better than I've seen them in a while. We used to have pudgy linemen... It's really not the case anymore. I saw glimpses of execution I never saw before in the spring game.

And lets look at your team since you looked at ours. Already one Heisman candidate in your QB. Already one 1k yard rusher. Where is Redd going to get touches? He'll split carries and split time with your passing attack. I'm sure he'll get them, but he sure won't be a feature back like he would be at PSU.

But hey, all this is fan talk. Redd will do what's best for Redd. No one will fault him for leaving, save for frustrated PSU fans (who will NOT truly mean it when they lash out at him).

Question on Henderson: what is he doing wrong that he is about to be kicked off Miami? Wasn't he the high school player of the year?

I just wanted to address something... a large percentage of the FightOn board came here the moment the sanctions were announced to give our condolences. The fact of the matter is that ONLY Alabama and USC fans know what Penn St is going through (and perhaps SMU fans if they exist any more).

Penn St fans have seen some ugly years and you still support your team - so you will survive through the sanctions and Penn St football will never die because your fanbase is truly loyal. I'll be cheering for Penn St as my favorite B1G team from now on.

    Fight on.

DJ Shoemate, respected member of the team who grew up dreaming of playing for USC . One of the first to speak up that the team would band together.

He made a statement that was supposed to be the rallying cry of the program.

Yeah, that one shocked us, and hurt.

  • I can understand PSU fans being angry, upset, disappointed because of the NCAA's harsh and ridiculous penalties...I don't agree with them either...I don't understand how the NCAA can punish all those 18, 19, 20 year old athletes, new coach and entire program for something they didn't do when those responsible are no longer associated with the program. Its my thought that the responsible individuals (past coaches, administrators, etc) should be punished rather than those who weren't involved.
I can understand how disappointing that is. However, when it comes to coach Kiffin, I do see many unreasonable posts. I know that many point out his short term with the Raiders and TN. And, I know many people hate Kiffin...especially in TN. However, what some don't realize (and some don't even want to realize) is that Kiffin was well respected in Oakland except by the main man in charge, Al Davis, who as you can see "fires" everyone! As for TN, how could Kiffin not want to leave for USC?? He was an assistant there during a remarkable run, it was his dream coaching position, it would bring him back to CA, and it was a once in a life time opportunity. I know TN fans were and many still are bitter about him leaving them because they wanted him to stay around. But, when that kind of opportunity opens up, of course Kiffin would take it because it was a far more desirable position for him to be in and so far he has been very successful and we are very pleased with what he has done for our program and more than happy that we have him.
I can understand PSU fans being disappointed if Redd transfers to USC, because I'm sure you would love to have the young man continue to play for your program. But, when some are calling Kiffin and or Redd down because he is considering the transfer, that is classless. I was disappointed when we had several transfer too, but I wish them well and I know they are making a decision that they feel is going to work out best for them, whether it does or doesn't. There is no reason for me to hate on a kid or opposing coach if the coach is acting in accordance with the rules in pursuit of that kid. The only reason Kiffin (and our fan base) would love to have this outstanding young man (Redd) is because it is a position where we are lacking depth.
Even though many will continue to hate Kiffin, and USC, and many will say, write, post negative things, I don't hold no grudge againt your program and I hope the very best for PSU. I disagree completely with the NCAA and find them to be very unfair. I would love to have Redd come to USC, but if he doesn't, I will still root for him and for PSU.
God bless you all and keep FIGHTING ON strong!

  • I guess if that SCUM coach Kiffin didn't let RB Amir Carlisle transfer to our rival ND out of the blue and with no restrictions, then we wouldn't be in the problem. The kid wanted to be closer to his family when his dad got the S and C job at Purdue, and that scumbag allowed him to go, to ND no less. ND would never reciprocate that.

Just for the sake of accuracy, Jones left because he couldn't get medically cleared, not because of sanctions. Campbell left because he was on the verge of being kicked off the team, not because of the sanctions.

    What rule did he break?

We are talking about a guy who would run over his mother to get a recruit. He has not shown he can coach. But he can recruit, whether the recruiting is within NCAAA rules, is another story.

He is a whiner, sore loser, blames others, runs up the score, he cheats, he tells you what you want to hear just to get the sale. He is the used car salesman, snake oil salesman. Tell me an opposing coach who likes him or has respect for him. He is the epitome of every thing Joe Paterno wasnt. If you came to PSU because you liked Paterno, you should be revolted by Kiffin.

    What rule did he break:
He was the OC at USC when Reggie Bush was riding out to his family's paid-for Malibu home in his paid for expensive car. That got the school sanctions. Just as Sandusky surely did not only do damage to these few kids, it is "reasonable to conclude" that Reggie Bush was not the only player at USC who got illegal benefits. But USC didnt pay $6.5 million for a public report that drove a stake thru their program. They were smart enough to make the NCAA pay for their investigation. And despite the pay-for-play findings, and clear athletic advantage from those violations, they got less sanctions than PSU.

He lasts one year in the NFL. He cant snake oil sell veteran NFL players. So his bullshit didnt play too well in the pros. Gets into a fight with Al Davis. Another enemy of Kiffin. Someone please tell me one good thing about Kiffin.

He leaves Oakland, and commits long term to the U of Tennessee. After one year there he leaves. Another lie. if i was hie wife i would wonder about his commitment issues. In the one year he was at Tennessee, he broke recruiting rules & took players with him to USC after telling everyone he was not going to take anyone from Tennesee. He made enemies of almost every coach, and had a verbal war with some (Meyer). It seems Tennessee has never been the same, and that is very well the gift of Kiffin that keeps on giving. Everywhere he goes, he makes enemies. I wonder what the former PSU judicial affairs officer (whatever her name was) would have thought of Kiffin. Do you think the football culture at USC is appropriate? Does acedmics come first? PSU kids go to school & graduate at the highest level of any NCAA school. USC cant say that but Im sure Kiffin saus something close to it, just to get the sale.

If it was written it must be true. Im just saying those are "reasonable conclusions" that I, Louis Freeh, have arrived at based on my hearing of opinions about Kiffin from people who dont know him and dont like him. I am not saying any of this is fact. I wasnt able to interview everyone, like most of the critical people that may know him best, and some people i would have liked to interview are dead (Al Davis), but i was asked to give my recommendation and opinion about Kiffin and how he operates to this "board," and so i am doing so.

I have read thousands of reports, or millions of pages of documents from credible networks and news organizations like ESPN and NY Times. Some news outlets in Tennesee and Oakland have also provided info. Why would these outlets provide false information about such a loving and caring guy, a stand up guy?

Im not saying that everything I said is true. In fact, I will admit that almost all of it is hearsay and wouldnt stand up in court as evidence. Additionally, I am not writing this report as evidence and you shouldnt use it as such (but some will). But "based on the information I have at this time," although i should wait to hear the good of this man, and wait until all the facts are in on whether Kiffin has ethics and good character, I think he is scum. Football is the end-all be-all for this man. And something should be done to change the football culture that he promotes over academics.

That is my report. Now that will be $6.5 million please.

Wrong HOT is a great poster and one of the nicest on our forums. Some of the sleazeball posters on this site are completely trashing USC and there have been a few USC posters here cordially dispelling nonsense rumors.

She didn't put of a facade. She was nice, you guys were shitty, and her sympathy evaporated.

Anyway if you guys are so upset over Redd that you lose all self-restraint and attack visitors... you should not pay attention to the offseason because every other school is going to gluttonously poach your players - all of them, not just one.
