I entered into the conversation with sentiments similar to RWC and PSUMichael. After hearing his side of the story from 2 inches away (not exaggerating) I came away with a different perspective. He was extremely passionate about the subject and took 30 minutes away from business to speak with me about PSU. He dismissed 3 of his subordinates who attempted to end our conversation. TFIW

dgstrane To be clear It was his opinion and he had no facts on C&S beyond what was layed out in the Freeh report. I do not think the conviction of C&S is necessarily bad for PSU. Yes they were required to report suspected child abuse. It is reasonable to assume after the 98 incident was thoroughly investigated by authorities with no charges filed, C&S after speaking with counsel determined the shower incident was more of the same. Bad Judgement maybe, but certainly not indicative of a culture problem. People make mistakes. A friend of mine was mentored by C and has only positive to things to say about his character.

palehorse: he referenced two items. 1)C or S apparently contacted a lawyer immediately after speaking with Joe to discuss "suspected child abuse" 2) that same person then referenced this conversation in a bullet point. It seems the problem is your required by law to report "suspected" child abuse.

Jim: Ken said he was solely responsible for hiring Louis Freeh. Don't Forget their were many on this board who expected the Freeh report to be more generous of PSU. It was only after a few months when we all got wind of the investigators line of questioning that people became worried. Even that didn't prepare me personally for Freeh's pompous grandstanding delivery and unsubstantiated conclusions.

Spoke to Ken for 30 minutes today.
1) "Joe Paterno is a great man"
2) "The people around Joe failed him." After meeting with Joe the administrator discussed suspected child abuse with an attorney.
3) Does not expect an acquittalFreeh report:
Informed those in charge that they were "abdicating" their responsibility by not scrutinizing the Freeh report before releasing it to the Public.Sanctions:
Confirmed Erickson was threatened with the Death Penalty.Ken Frazier.
1)A Fighter. The most passionate and intense man I have met, easy to see why he has been successful at every level.
2)Straight shooter. He did not mince words or speak in politically correct terms, the exact opposite.
3) Extraordinary memory and recall of details. Reminded me of Joe in that Respect.
3) loves Penn State
3) Never removed a picture of Joe from his office.
4) Son was accepted to Penn State and U of Penn. Emphatically advised his son to attend Penn State.
5) Would love to see him as President of PSU.
6) Invited me to see his handwritten letters from Joe.
