    Bradley's lawyer is claiming that Joyner told him this afternoon that no decision has been made. Another reporter talked to a member from the search committee yesterday who had no idea that O'brien was going to be hired.

  • Either Joyner is still trying to cover this (God would only know why) or O'Brien and his Agent or playing a pretty high stakes game of chicken. I still believe O'Brien will be the new coach, but who the hell knows now. Certainly after the last two months nothing could shock me now.

  • I would laugh my ass off if Joyner and Ira are straight up trolling ESPN and the media and this is all just another smoke screen. Sadly, I have a hard time believing that to be the case though. This is just too widely known at this point and supposedly there is a presser set for tomorrow morning?

    Where did u see something about a presser for tmw? All reports are that Lasch has been completely silent today.

    I'm not a fan of the rumored hire. But if the alternative is Bradley getting the job, I'll take my chances with BOB. Why all of the groundswell for the defensive staff that gave up 75 points in the past two games? Status quo will decimate us as surely as a bad outside hire will.

  • Sean is catching a flight back to State College tonight from Under Armour game, but from reading tweets, Joyner didn't confirm anything, but said there will be info out later when he entered the Lasch building.

    It's six one, half dozen the other. I think Scrap would attract a far better staff. Far better. However, I'm also concerned with his CEO abilities, capability to discipline team members accordingly, and unknown development of the offense.

    I think BOB is a better schematic coach than Bradley, and he possesses the type of intensity to command players' respect. However, his lack of track record will not attract many high level assistants. I think we'd become an intriguing opportunity for a lot of understudies to cut their teeth and add a nice name to their resumes. That could be a good or bad thing, but it's a highly risky venture.

    IMHO, just another botched PR job by the University. They got scooped by ESPN... AGAIN... and weren't ready for it.... AGAIN.

    Tomorrow they will have announce Bill O'Brien as Penn State's HC, two days after EVERYONE knew it. Two days after it was leaked and our coaches and players found out from ESPN. They obviously had ZERO control over the information.

    It makes you wonder if all the "secrecy" during the past two months was the real smokescreen for these two not having any idea what they're doing.

    The same people that were in charge of the University's response in the days after the scandal are still in charge and still making the same mistakes. Joyner & Lubert need to go. My anger is directed toward them and how they conducted this search.
