Just watched Matt Millen video....

  • Who that guy bleeds Blue and White....his emotion is how I and probably others have felt since Saturday. A chance he is involved with this team going forward....maybe he wasn't right for NFL....but PSU football?

If he shows that kind of heart and emotion off the field....how will he be on the field. Liked his comment about the way I take care of things is to confront them and deal with it even if not comfortable.

    Thoughts?

  • I agree. I was surprised at how candid and passionate he was.

  • I would love for him to come back to help out, in any capacity, right about now.

  • I mean....I cried with him....so sad....I agree with Millen....JoePa wants to talk but is being silenced by Spanier or whoever....he cares so much about University, team, alumni, etc....he wants to talk but is just waiting for the right moment.

I think Millen fire and drive is a plus in this situation....

I too shed my first tear over this whole incident tonight watching Matt Millen. i have balled a lot up over the past few days. I haven't even been able to post much over the past few days. This is very disturbing to me on a very personal level.

Mark May tweeted that earlier today. I hate to say it, but I can't disagree with him for the first time ever.

  • Well he worked out sooo well for the Lionsbanghead

College AD and NFL GM are completely different roles.

  • One thing that spoke volumes to me was the way in which he defended Joe. I am 19 and was still far from being born during his PSU tenure, but I am very well aware of the fact that he had some serious spats with Joe. He even alluded to this today by saying something along the lines of "Believe me Chris (Chris McKendry), we had quite a few hum-dingers back in the day, but I still had great respect for him."
He continued to discuss this. He basically said that there is so much good that Joe has worked for and that this should in no war tarnish any of that. He seemed upset with the public and the whole idea that this could tarnish his legacy when in reality it should come nothing close to doing that. Basically Sandusky is the one people should be angry with, and that we shouldn't have any anger towards Joe until something actually comes out.

The lions basically replaced Millen with Mayhew and removed no one else from what I recall. The same scouting department and operations people making suggestions on personnel remained, but somehow the bad years were all Millen's fault as if he alone did the scouting and decided what players to select and cut.

Matt supported Paterno, but didn't shy away from saying that everyone who was a part needs to pay, even if Paterno is a casualty.

  • I'd support Millen.

  • It seemed to me that Millen was passionate about Penn State and about Joe, but his primary passion was related to protecting our society's children. And that, my friends, is a great credential for a prospective AD---especially in the wake of this scandal where the welfare of kids was seemingly neglected. There is no "success" without "honor."
