I hope this doesn't effect your football program too much...I think its better when the traditional Big 10 powerhouses are at their strongest point...This whole scandal is sad...and hope your program just moves on to be the great school and program that it is...Good luck next season!

Appreciate it.
Frankly, I think some sanctions are in order, though not sure what level. Most of this is not related to the football program, but there's a few things that are questionable that do relate to it.
In the end, I think the best solution is following any recommendations to prevent future instances of this from occurring, and doing whatever is possible (psychological help, inter alia) to help the victims.

Almost every Ohio State fan (and football fan in general) knows full well that 99.9% of Penn Staters are horrified at this entire situation, do not condone it and wish that Sandusky had been reported to the police immediately 15 years ago when this all started.
Who cares about a rivalry between our schools on the football field right now? This isn't a football matter, in my eyes. This is a criminal matter and a moral failure of a few men at the pinnacle of power. Unfortunately for PSU folks, one of those men was the icon of the program that everybody has and always will associate with PSU football.
I think everyone at Ohio State or anywhere else would still be just as outraged if this had happened at Alabama, Washington or Vermont Polytechnical School. But the publicity has been overboard since it cost Joe Paterno his job and reputation.
I wrote this on our board at Bucknuts in discussion with tdiddy but I wanted to venture over here as well: I don't think the NCAA will do anything serious in terms of sanctions. They'll act serious and probably create a joint task force or something in the next couple months.
But in the end, I think they'll slap minimal sanctions on the Athletic Department under the clause of 'ethics' and then step back. They won't do anything serious beyond looking serious because they know that the real future concern for Penn State is the massive lawsuit load that is waiting from these victims now that the Freeh report has come out.
And that's going to hurt more than football, unfortunately.
Bottom line is that this is a really sad situation and no one should be enjoying the fallout at you guys' expense. Good luck guys.

I appreciate your levelheaded opinion Bax. We all have our differences, but this goes beyond those and calling for a whole university to get wiped off the face of the planet will not help anything. Thank you.

Baximus, remember that time you wrote an article on Bucknuts saying:
"Which is why it was so shocking to me that Dr. Anzalone brazenly told the Reading Eagle that “Something’s just not right at Ohio State” when the sex offender news broke. Now, I know that the sound-minded folks of Central Pennsylvania (which regrettably doesn’t include the hamlet of State College) are extraordinarily sensitive to stuff like this in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal right down the road, but to imply that something was wrong at Ohio State vis-à-vis sex offenses is the height of irresponsibility.
One place is a Podunk mountain town which still doesn’t get the full implications of having an icon raping little boys in their football building. The other is in a major city where quick and decisive action was taken by the university to protect their students from a creeper who was in no way associated with the institution and never will be. "
I do.
