  • As I posted here before sending congrats on getting his commitment, I talked to his mother today at work and she told me that South Carolina is on him big time and he is starting to like them proximity to home could win out here. Personally I hope he sticks with Penn State as a FSU fan I can't stand Spurrier. Just wanted to pass that along, here is to keeping Walton a Lion

    I agree.

    And I think Parker Cothren will not be too far behind.

    Big question is who does PSU go after to fill their spots? The staff will not carry over that many slots to next year.

  • I suspect Roof leaving will provide him cover to officially de-commit without making it look too bad.

    I said before, I think PSU should go after Junior Joseph for LB. I just don't think there is another quality DT out there if Cothren bolts.

    Thx, Feel free to remind here of PSU's very favorable depth chart, great grad rate, history of putting LB's in the league etc. That is if you feel so inclined to keep him away from USCe. biggrin Nice pick up from bama by the way. Walker is a hell of a player.

    Personally I think PSU is best for him cause he understands that football might not always be there, so as far as education goes PSU easily wins out. But since USCe is closer to home that might be the determining factor.

    As for Walker, I still check the boards to make sure it is true. What a shocker of a flip

  • At least we know our crew knows how to spot talent. We seem to get there first and others follow. Example: Neiko Robinson. I haven't seen his Sr. film but his Jr. film is fun to watch. Walton's Sr. film is also really fun to watch. Thank you again for the info man.

    Probably not, but great for you guys. Just the way it goes when coaches change. Worries me a little about GT if Roof goes after some of these guys. Closer to home with a good education. Could see that appealing to the southern recruits we have.

  • Jonathon lives in Daphane, Alabama which sits on the eastside of Mobile Bay. Just north of Gulf Shores, Al. For his mother ( who is afraid to fly ) driving to USCe is easier for her but she doesn't really care about distance she just wants him to be happy and get a good education. It is more of him possibly wanting to stay closer to home. Auburn has been showing interst but it seems they tried to get him to unofficial this past weekend but he couldnt. Auburn wasn't happy about that. I think he visits USCe this weekend or next.

    At first I thought he might stick, but I'm with you. I'll be surprised if he stays assuming he has a real offer.

    Do you know if Vandy and Roof were in agreeance over Benton? Just thinking about backup lbers.
