Wow, interesting. That speaks volumes about what they think about Johnnie as a football player to take him in the 5th round knowing he will likely sit out his entire rookie season.

The Chargers must have loved him. I think most teams, pre injury, had Troutman graded as 5th round or later. The fact that the Chargers knew about the injury and still took him in the 5th does show how much they like him. I think this should workout well for Troutman. He can rehab and work on his skills as he learns the system and pro game.

I know a few scouts and they cannot believe that the Chargers drafted him in the 5th round knowing he was going to miss the year. As the one told, "they must really love the kid."
