I am a proud graduate of Penn State and spent a good deal of time obtaining my degree in a library that this great man helped build. I am forever in debt to JoePa for what he has done to a university I hold so dear in my heart.

...i met Mr. Paterno on college ave. in the summer of soph year..we had brief chat..his b.day was same as my Father.....i told this story to everyone..just a genuine person....very sad, prayes to him, Suepa, and entire family...he has so much to b proud of....God Bless...

I am not surprised by this very sad news.
From a lifelong Buckeyes fan, many thoughts and prayers to JoePa and the always great football teams he brought to our stadium. He will ultimately be remembered for all the good he brought to Penn State. What a guy, to have had so much success on the football field and, more importantly, with the players he taught great life lessons to!!

My thoughts and prayers go out to Coach Paterno and his family. I have always respected him and he is a coaching icon. The game can't afford to lose iconic coaches because that era is coming to a close.
