From that picture it looks like Joe has aged another 5-10 years in the past few months. Let's hope his treatment doesn't extend very long.
It's odd that the author asks for what we want asked AFTER the interview has already occurred. I guess so they know what to keep in vs. edit out?

I think that as well. The Post did a poor job in advertising it... I hope it was recorded... Maybe made available to NBC or CBS? I don't want ESPN to get a hold of it... On second thought, maybe it would be better in print... That way ESPN can't edit it and put a spin on it...

I get the impression they will stream it. By 4:05 everybody will have it and you'll get to read quotes on the bottom line.
Maybe not NPR says it will be a posted report at 4 pm

Yeah chemo does that... My grandmother died of breast cancer... Chemo is no joke... Sometimes people opt for surgery... but I don't think thats an option with lungs...

Not that what I say matters.....but is it coincidence he did this interview and then went into the hospital the day after?
Sometimes people "just know" their time has come. I hope I'm wrong, but could this interview been his decision to do because he knows time is coming fast for him?

Well ESPN could still take his quotes out of context, which is what the current day media does anyway.. you really can't believe anything you read, see, or hear anymore..

It depends on the type of cancer and spread but surgery to remove all or part of the lung is typical, especially for non-small cell lung cancers that are confined to one lung.

Not much new there, just added that Joe said he wasn't more forceful because he felt inadequate to deal with it, and trusted the admins to deal with this, and he didn't want to mess up an investigation or anything because he was afraid of ruining it somehow. He wanted to keep out of the process because he didn't want to mess it up with his blundering...so he related to us.

Very well written and also fair for a change - she did not try to inject her morality into the article, but actually just reported what he said and how Joe and Sue are getting on now...
