No one would have any reason to tell me about the 1998 Sandusky investigation which is the huge difference between me and Joe Paterno.
JoePa is the highest profile person in PA and his highest profile assistant is being investigated by the police and you don't think he hears about that? It is ludicrous to think that he wouldn't be informed that atleast something was going on.
Other than their word, if we had testimony from Curley, Schultz, Spanier, etc. that Joe was never informed that would help but there is no testimony like that yet. It will be interesting to see what happens during their trials.

You may have less suspicion that you knew compared to Joe Paterno, but none of this is "proof" that you didn't know about Sandusky.
That's my point, there is no way you can "prove" that someone doesn't know something. All you have is their word, and you have Paterno, under oath saying that he didn't know. That's all we have. Your initial post said that there isn't "proof" that Paterno didn't know. There also isn't "proof" that you didn't know.
Now you obviously didn't know, I'm trying to make my point about your statement about proving what someone doesn't know.

There may be an answer, I am not a lawyer. I think a lawyer or someone more knowledgeable about the law would have a better answer to this. IIRC, there is something in the previous law about not being allowed to inform the supervisor of charged individual.
Since Joe was JS's supervisor and had no baring on the case...could Joe being informed have complicated the case for investigators?

Everyone has a right to make an informed opinion based on the information presented and my opinion is that JoePa had some amount of knowledge about the 1998 investigation. Do I think that makes him a criminal or do I think he was part of some coverup? Not at all.

Golic said that he cant fathom how the head football coach in a small town didnt have any idea that his top assistant had the cops called on him and was under investigation. Its an opinion.

And I can't fathom how a coach who sat his best WR in his last game (on NYD no less), for cutting class before he graduated could be accused of knowingly allowing a pedophile to run amok. This is what Golic wants us to believe. Stop defending his inane drivel. Defend him impugning someone with a little less character than Joe Paterno.

But what does that prove, its still all hearsay... Nobody will ever know what Joe knew or didn't know. As much as I respect Jay for defending Joe, I kinda wish it didn't prolong this whole thing. This story is like Herpes; it just keeps resurfacing, and there will never be a resolution. Im ready for the BW game so that everyone can just move on. On to the 2013 season!
