You'd be embarrassed until he signed his LOI. Then you'd go on the ND board and brag that Joe still has it. Let's just keep it real.

It worked and it was within the rules. i don't like the method personally either, but they got a sense of what it took in Williams' case.
The method I like even less is telling kids that "you will be hearing from other schools more than us."

I don't think I've ever bragged to anyone over getting a recruit. I've also NEVER trolled another board or bragged that "Joe still has it".
Most of these kids don't come to school because of Joe, they come because of what he's turned Penn State into, and that very much includes doing things the right way.
And yes, this is me keeping it real.
If that's what it takes to get a recruit, then the other school can have him for all I care.
