    You wouldn't....

It makes no sense in this instance to push Waters to KSU

interesting. Sams looks like he was pretty much a wildcat (no pun intended) QB and nothing more this season. He threw a whopping 8 passes (6 were in the OKST game) despite playing in 7 games, but ran 32 times for 235.

Sams played a majority of his snaps (outside of the Okie State game) in garbage time. They didn't ask him to throw the ball. But being honest, this past season he was more of a threat and could do more on the ground than through the air.

However, in the Okie State game (where Klein likely got concussed) he played from the mid-3rd quarter on and finished out the game. He handled himself quite well for coming in cold and having an ankle that was not 100 percent. He was 5-6 for 45 yards for the game and led K-State to 2 field goal drives (Snyder was basically playing 4 corners the entire 4th quarter).

Sams is more than just a wildcat QB.

From Waters' comments he obviously doesn't think he's going to have to run the ball 15-20 times per game (like Klein did). It will be interesting to see how that all goes down. I know I'll be pulling for Sams.

  • So how does Snyder run spring and summer/fall camp now? Is he just going to throw out his offense because he got 1 JUCO pro-style which would practically eliminate Sams from the equation as the offense would be less tailored to him? Or is he going to stick with the offense he has been running and will play the best man, which would prob. be Sams?

You dont just throw out how your offense is ran based on 1 JUCO, when you have QBs on your roster that know the offense they have been running.

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game, life or football-the margin for error is so small. -Pacino

I guess they could see which QB would give them the best ability to win, and then tailor the O around that guy.

But you're right, money is on the same O going forward with the guy who can run it. I hope Waters made the right decision for him, but I'll be willing to be he regrets his decision next fall.

All I know is, something changed. Which sucks.

Ask me the kid didn't look very happy as the press conference went to the other players and they kept flashing back to him. Seems to me he already was having some serious 2nd thoughts.

And to everyone out there....This is not about Steven Bench. This is about having more than 1 QB in the spring and about having people push each other to make themselves better now, tomorrow, next week, and in the summer.

McGloin was so good IMO because he always had to fight and compete for his job each and every day so he had no choice but to get better.

Watch his Juco coach end up on the KSU staff...

I thought it was interesting that he was up with his JUCO coach late last night. You know that guy wants to keep up his relationship with KSU...

Honestly, you can't fault the juco coach for that. Realistically, PSU going after one of his kids is probably a one-off, while KSt will be a recurring program recruiting form the school.
